there is no background in Conky, is the same background as that desktop

if you install my Negrox Theme for emerald you get the same shadow you see in the screenshot. ;-)

if you don't want to use my theme choose wherever theme you want and go to Compiz Settings Manager >> Window Decoration and adjusts the Shadow Radius + Shadow Opacity to get the desired shade. ;-)
