Description:

Dust is a concept for a new, refreshing look for Ubuntu. The idea was to take the defining aesthetic elements of Ubuntu and remix it into something clean, modern, functional, and unique.

It's a new take on the Ubuntu aesthetic using a dark palette and subtle colors.

Is there something I can add to the gtkrc so that the theme will also alter xfce panels to match your gnome panels?

 Looks nice

I love the look of it, and I hope Ubuntu 8.10 includes this, or something like it. One slight modification I'd like to see though, is a smoother colour transition between the tool bar and the menu bar, so they look like one object, instead of two pieces of an object. That's just a personal preference though.

 round metacity buttons

i like the round metacity buttons from the mockup https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Incoming/Intrepid/DustTheme?action=AttachFile&do=view&target=ubuntudust.jpg more.

the brown does not look bad in this one, but a color-neutral version would be even better. no color, no danger of interfering with something else on your screen.

anyway, i like dust, it has a future!

@newversion2
the theme is color-adjustable (metacity, GTK AFAIK)
but the: minimize, maximize, and close buttons aren't color-aware, but it's not that difficult to use GIMP to do this yourself. But for ease of use, it would be nice to have colorless mouse-over effects.
----

the one problem that I had is the theme needs an all dusty dark brown theme because when I adjusted the theme light colors to the dark brown and I could no longer read the text on the menus. (I could read through the file but it would be nice to have a dark version of this theme)

Anyways I really like the default and I always prefer cool coffee colored themes over ugly orange ones.

Possibly one of the most usable themes I have seen.

Great work
