Description:

A dark (black & white) theme for gnome desktop.
Thanks to Gnome Fanatic for the name!

I just recieved mail being told this
theme is the default in PCLOS Gnome 2008 !

More info and download here: http://linuxgator.org/

suggestions very welcome!

PLS! tell me what you think!

!!!!IMPORTANT!!!!!

To install:
1.Download the file to your desktop
2.Right click the file and select extract here, then another archive pops up,do
the same for that.
3.open a terminal and run these commands:

first
sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/SlicknesS /usr/share/themes

second (this one fixes firefox, don't need this for ff3, only 2 This fix is made by user twrock, so if he wants me to delete it i will)
cp /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS/userChrome.css $HOME/.mozilla/firefox/*.default/chrome

4.Open the theme manager, you can now
see the SlicknesS theme as a theme,
when you click on it , it suggests
taners amazing wallpaper he made for this theme!!
click apply to apply the wallpaper!

the icon theme it suggests is this one:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/black-white+2+Style?content=72619

any problems with the install let me know!!!!

One REALLY HUGE thank you to artist Taner
for his fantastic wallpaper!

Changelog:

2.2.2 probably the last update, this should
fix the message of an engine "" not installed
I can't try it myself if it works (since I don't have
gnome installed) so if anyone would be kind
to let me know if it works, it would be kind :)
This will probably be my last fix as I'm not on
gnome anymore.

2.2.1 Fixed my previous F**kup. (at least I hope so)
(it's been tested on ubunut 7.10). If anyone still
has any kind of problem please be so kind and let me
know!

To read full changelog read changelog.txt in
the SlicknesS folder.

Nah, I decided to leave the font color like it is after I switched to a different font style. Looks perfect for me now.

Thanks for the offer though. I've been using your theme (along with desktop effects) to make all my Windows and Mac using friends jealous for the last few days.

Hey Robert, congratulations on being chosen as the PCLinuxOS theme! I was looking at some screenshots over at The Coding Studio, and thought I recognized your theme. So I came back here to compare and make sure, and saw your announcement.

Most of us already recognized how excellent your themes are, but it is nice to see you get this type of "endorsement" as well.

No, I'm not likely to create any completely new themes. I don't have the artistic talent, so I basically just enjoy "tweaking".

I was working on something based on a theme I created for my Palm OS device, but I couldn't get things to look good enough in a complete GTK theme to make me happy. (Palm themes are significantly less complicated.)

Well... you know a lot about coding...gtkrc
if you don't like editing pixmaps or other
graphics I think you should try out making
a theme by using other engines.. like
aurora and murrine engines, you can make
things look pretty awesome and to your liking
with those two, think about it!

Thanks again!

 If it ever comes out

I was thinking that when (if) cimi releases the murrine engine with argb support, you could try to use that to make your menubars transparent, so it still feels like theyre part of the titlebar when the titlebar is transparent. just a thought. like i said earlier, i less-than-three your themes, particularly this one.

Yeah! that is something I really would love
to do! However, menubar uses pixmap engine
and therefor it's impossible to to that...
That is something I've been wanting to implement
since I made this theme :)

If I found out a way I will ofc implement it
but as it looks now , impossible.

Thanks for suggesting tho!

Hi Rob, I have been looking at this theme and its improvement for a while. I must say your taste of design is gorgeous. Congratulation my fella and thank you for the time, effort and so on what you have spent to improve the appearance of Linux. I am glad to be in the same community and work shoulder-by-shoulder with you.

In terms of making these kind of things (icon themes, GTK, etc), is there ANY award higher than having your theme be the default on a major distro like PCLOS?
