Description:

This is the OpenSolaris default theme - Nimbus. It includes:

- Gtk engine
- Gtk theme
- Metacity theme
- Icons

These are the packages, which I've made with this tuttorial: http://www.vinodlive.com/2007/08/20/make-your-ubuntu-desktop-more-beautiful.

These packages should be compatible with all debian based distributions.

You can get the latest version of the source from http://dlc.sun.com/osol/jds/downloads/extras/nimbus

It's nice to have another distinct and professional looking theme on Gnome.

Keep the updates coming. Also take a look at https://launchpad.net/nimbus-ubuntu

Another thing: What is the default fonts for Solaris?

 best Theme of all available

Besides of DarkRoom which is new inside of 8.10 Ubuntu now and looks good (as one of the first ones...) Nimbus really beats nearly everything seen before!
The first time i've seen nimbus (in OpenSolaris itself) i just was out of words!

This look beats the Mac Leopard original theme and the windows xp and vista theme!

For me Nimbus is one of the most impressive and most pretty themes on earth for desktop environments !!!

I really hope Ubuntu will include nimbus as official one (just inside the repos) soon and supports it! Next to all other available nimbus really is a very pretty and detailed high res theme looking very well designed without visible ugly pixels.

I really would like to have nimbus theme and icon set inside the official repo so that it auto updates automatically and stays included :-)

And by that many thanks for your compiling dude!

Since i finally found this theme for ubuntu i won't take any other anymore!
It's my main theme from now on until i see something beating this which i don't believe will ever happen.

 Great Theme

I love the theme. It is attractive fast and crisp. I wish I could figure out how to make the fast-user-switcher background transparent to match any panel I choose.

 Got problem with scrollbar

When I open a file which has many pages, the scrollbar seems to be overlapped.

How to fix this?

P.S: i don't understand why nobody else has noticed this yet either, quite a few people in the comments mention the icons in some way or another but never say anything about the screenshot being a different icon theme to the package

The icons are not the original one. This is Clearlooks OSX theme. You can find it in the Icons section.

Whatever you think, it may be wrong...

Maybe, maybe not, but if yon can tell me where I can find this so-called 0.1.1 source, I will update the packages at once.
