Description:

X11 mouse theme with the crystal look&feel, there are four versions in the package.

Changelog:

CrystalCursors 1.1.1:
-this release only fixes some hot spot-related bugs into the left-handed version.
Many thanks to Markus Bauer and Bastian Venthur for the report and patch.

CrystalCursors 1.1:
this release fixes only the build system, changes includes:
-in left handed themes the symmetric cursors aren't flipped anymore
-now it's finally possible to install the cursors system-wide:
all you have to do is to edit the Makefile and change the first line
export PREFIX=$(HOME)/.icons/ with a properdirectory, usually
export PREFIX=/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icons is a good choice,
that should also make simpler to build rpms and other packages

CrystalCursors 1.0:
-corrected the green version of copy cursor
-now the colorize.sh script produces a veery better result
(and is fairly slower, btw :-))

CrystalCursors 0.9:
-corrected a little asymmetry in the left pointers
-all themes have an almost autogenerated left-handed (i.e. flipped) version

CrystalCursors 0.8:
-modified the shiny effect of the hands
-all borders of the 32x32 versionnow are more sharp
-remade all the shadows of the white version
CrystalCursors 0.7:
-a 32x32 version of wach cursor theme(useful for very big screen
resolutions) to enable it set the environment variable XCURSOR_SIZE=32
-watch busy cursor updated with the one in the current crystal icons
-green theme reworked
-lighter shadows
-reworked all the svg images
-little modification in colorize.sh(thanks to Tika)

 make and debian sid

Hi!
Your Cursors look very nice!!!
But i can't make the cursors:

bash-2.05b$ make
make -C sources
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/jobe/download/cursors/Crystalcursors/sources'
xcursorgen bd_double_arrow.conf ../cursors/bd_double_arrow
make[1]: xcursorgen: Command not found
make[1]: *** [../cursors/bd_double_arrow] Error 127
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/jobe/download/cursors/Crystalcursors/sources'
make: *** [all] Error 2

I'm using Debian SID and xfree86 4.2.1. Is there a package for xcursorgen?
Or could anybody give me the cursors that i can put into ~/.icons??
Thanks.

unfortunately the colored cursors support was added only in xfree 4.3, so it is necessary at least that version (also xcursorgen is a part of xfree 4.3)

I have XFree86 4.3 and it gives me the same error:
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `../cursors/bd_double_arrow', needed by `all'. Stop.

Many people has reported the same problem: it seems it's a problem with the old versions of gnu make. maybe i will try to adapt the makefile in some future versions.

 mandrake works-kinda

I installed it, it said it installed fine. when i go to the logon menu i see the clock.. this is good, but when i log into both kde or gnome i get the old boring pointers(no offense to the person that made the default X pointers)

So how do I get it so that the mouse pointer works...?

Kudos to the one that can help me...

Do you logged in as the same user that you used for installing? the theme is installed in the users's home.
if you want the cursors installed for all users you must copy the the crystal and default folders stored in the folder ~/.icons in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icons

This is the reason why Linux will succeed.. people like you that help people like me.

Thank you for that!

Although i will say that a couple of pointer states still revert back to the original X11 set.. but i can only assume thats the theme itself..

Its amazing how much better a simple mouse pointer can improve the overall look..

I just upgraded to the latest X-free86 RPM's from redhat 9, and now my Crystal cursors stoped working.

https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2003-288.html

I tried reinstalling them and copying the the files to the /usr/share/X11.... directorey mentoned in an above post, but that didnt work.

Anybody out there know why?

 RPMs

Hi, cool cursors.
I tried to make a rpm with all four colours. Get it at

http://gerdf.gmxhome.de

Greetings, Gerd

P.S.: I think the h_double_arrow is not correct centered?? And the xterm cursor could IMO be a little thinner/elegant.
