Description:

X11 mouse theme with the crystal look&feel, there are four versions in the package.

Changelog:

CrystalCursors 1.1.1:
-this release only fixes some hot spot-related bugs into the left-handed version.
Many thanks to Markus Bauer and Bastian Venthur for the report and patch.

CrystalCursors 1.1:
this release fixes only the build system, changes includes:
-in left handed themes the symmetric cursors aren't flipped anymore
-now it's finally possible to install the cursors system-wide:
all you have to do is to edit the Makefile and change the first line
export PREFIX=$(HOME)/.icons/ with a properdirectory, usually
export PREFIX=/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icons is a good choice,
that should also make simpler to build rpms and other packages

CrystalCursors 1.0:
-corrected the green version of copy cursor
-now the colorize.sh script produces a veery better result
(and is fairly slower, btw :-))

CrystalCursors 0.9:
-corrected a little asymmetry in the left pointers
-all themes have an almost autogenerated left-handed (i.e. flipped) version

CrystalCursors 0.8:
-modified the shiny effect of the hands
-all borders of the 32x32 versionnow are more sharp
-remade all the shadows of the white version
CrystalCursors 0.7:
-a 32x32 version of wach cursor theme(useful for very big screen
resolutions) to enable it set the environment variable XCURSOR_SIZE=32
-watch busy cursor updated with the one in the current crystal icons
-green theme reworked
-lighter shadows
-reworked all the svg images
-little modification in colorize.sh(thanks to Tika)

 My version

by itodd on: May 28 2003

I created my own version of the left_ptr found in this theme for those interested: http://itodd.org/?headerid=43

It's basically a carbon copy except the body of my cursor has an opacity of 80%.

 MergeWith BlueGlass!

Can you mix your set of cursors
with the BlueGlass cursors, like
making it to rotate, animating it?

Thanks!!!!!

Please DONT!!!!
The only cause I didn't install the blue glass cursors is BECAUSE they are animated. I find a constantly moving curser VERY distracting.
(But I agree that it could be useful on a laptop where you easily "loose" your cursor.)
If you realy use animation on the standard cursors it should be slow, like xRedDot where the red dot hops from one side to the other once every second or so.

 A little criticism

First of, I realy like your cursor style.
I have a few criticisms though.

First and most important, I think that the Hand cursor looks fine, but a little out of place. It somhow doesn't fit with the rest of the theme.
It should be either blue like the rest, or get a blue outline/ better a blue sleeve. so it is blue white like the "Dont-drop-what-you-are-draging-here"-cursor

The other points are minor, and even more IMHO:

The "change-window-size"-cursors should be a little slimmer, to better match the default cursor

And finaly, there should be a move-cursor

Thats all, keep up the good work, and I hope to see your cursors in kde 3.2

fabio

 install problem

I intended to install the green crystal cursors, however, it seems it installed the blue ones (I definitely was in the green_src folder when I entered "make instal"). Have anybody experienced this?

uhm... look what you have in the directory ~/.icons and if you have found a crystalcursors subdirectory, try to delete it and then redo the install procedure, that should work.

YES!!! Thanks god that you are here yet!!!

I though you abandoned the project!!!

Hey, you have the best cursor in my opnion,
and there are room for improvement.

I (and I know other people too) use your
cursor in the everyday, home, faculty, work.

Can you complete your theme and improve
it as requested by some users in this forum??? I really apreciate your work, thanks a lot!!!! You are being helpfull!

Maybe you can make another set (after finishing this one) with some animation, like blueglass?? (merging the _best_ of the 2 worlds)

Keep you good will!!!!
Good work, thanks!!!!!
