OSX-Tiger theme

GTK 2.x Theme/Style

OSX-Tiger theme

Downloads:  202042
Submitted:  Apr 18 2007

Description:

This is my very first GTK-theme. It tries to imitate OSX Tiger operating system's Aqua theme. There are some differences, because GTK sets some limits what you can do and what not.

Theme uses some graphics from Glossy P theme.

This theme uses pixbuf engine so in Ubuntu you'll need to install gtk2-engines-pixbuf package.

I have written more about OSX imitating on my website www.taimila.com.

Avant-window-navigator as replyed below. It also reads on my site like many other OSX imitating related things. ;)

No, it's Avant-window-navigator.

Taimilia, finally a theme that looks like Os 10 in details.

I've read your new howto, and : "WOW!".

Finally also Menubar has the proper attention..

it looks pretty good and if you want to make it more tiger alike the checkboxes on menu are different than the ones in a window.

and finally afaik OS X no longer use "stripped" background for the menu, does it?

anyway it is one of the best OS X themes I've seen.

Ok :) I don't have real OS X so my theme is based on screenshots I have seen. And I can't know which screenshots are from default installation. I think stripped menus are still in use though.

I don't have a screenshot of OSX menu checkboxes, so it's kind of hard to imitate them. :) Also, I'm not sure is it possible to use different checkbox image in menus.

It's really cool! Thanks for your work.

A couple of questions:

1 when using TAB to switch focus on different components, textfields are fine, but buttons cannot distinguished very easily

2 Could you tell us where is the window border?

Window border is called DreamAccurateTiger. You can get it at Beryl website: http://themes.beryl-project.org/theme_details.php?id=31

I'm not sure do I understand your comment about tabs. Could you be more specific? I know that tabs are not very OSX like, but it's hard to achive the real thing with GTK.

You need to download the package, drag it on gnome-theme-manager and select the theme. If it doesn't look right. Run "sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-pifbuf" and try again.
