Description:

GTK2 theme based on VistaBut theme from roberTO21 (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=32227).
All the thanks go to roberTO21

The best metacity themes that match this gtk theme are LiNsta Black Flat, LiNsta Black Plastic, LiNsta Black Plastic & Alu, and LiNsta Silver Plastic.

I changed small things in its theme :
-the theme is clearer;
-some pixmaps were improved;
-I changed the top panel style. Now, you can find 2 themes : black and gray. I'm working on a Royal Blue one.
-I changed the menubar style. Now you can find more than 20 themes. You can make yours :-) Don't hesitate to share them !
-I changed the toolbar style. There are other styles. Choose yours.

How to customize ?
-All the styles are defined in 4 files : menubar-custom.rc, toolbar-custom.rc, panel_custom.rc, and menu-custom.rc. Have a look to them.
-To change the top panel theme : comment and/or uncomment the lines 18, 19 in the gtkrc file. panel_silver.rc and panel_black-plastic.rc contain the suitable styles to modify to obtain the desired panel. To have the best result, go to the panel properties, in the background tab, and select the right background (go to the panel folder in the GTK2 theme folder).
-To change the menubars, go at the end of the gtkrc file. Change the lines 1822, 1823, 1824 with one of the styles defined in the menubar-custom.rc file. You can define one style for particular windows (see lines 1825, 1826, and 1827), but don't forget that the more there are definitions like these, the more the GUI is slow !
-To change toolbars, change the lines 1815 to 1820 with one of the styles defined in the toolbar-custom.rc file.
-For the meuns style, all styles are defined in the menu-custom.rc file. The silver menu is ok.

But I would like to define a black menu, and the menuitem font color is still black, and I would like this to be white. I tested lots of things but the menuitems are always black. Can you help me ?

I also need your help to define a particular menu style for the panel (black menus), and another for all other windows and apps (silver menus). How can I do this ?

Thank you.

About the darker field selected in the menu, to change its color, go in the menubar-custom.rc file.

You can see all the menubar styles.

To change the color when a menu is selected or hilighted, you have to modify the fg[PRELIGHT] and the fg[ACTIVE] values by what you want in the right menubar style.

That's all ;-)

Some people Vote this theme as bad
or comment something bad...
I just want to say that Linsta doesnt copies the looks of any OS..It shows Linux can do wat other can and even more than that..Even i hate Vista-windows..But i like this theme. There is nothing wrong in using it..

I appreciate the work of this theme-creator..:)

Thank you.
I'm working on a darker menu. But I must admit that I encounter some difficulties.
You can try what I made : in the gtkrc file, comment the line 1829, uncomment the line 1830. Comment the lines 1832 to 1834, uncomment the lines 1835 to 1837.
Now you can see what I mean : all the items are black. I would like them to be white, and I don't know how to do this.
Can you help me ? or anyone else ?

That mac like bar in bottom panel is simply a gnome panel with a particular background.
You can find this background in the LiNsta-GTK2/gtk-2.0/Panel folder (panel-bg-translucent-48.png or panel-bg-translucent-2-48.png or any other file).
