Description:

Gray version of the nice theme "Mint" by lokheed, with a new Metacity theme!
Gray-Flat has got different menubar and different metacity (obviusly you can use Gray-Flat with Gray metacity theme!).
Stavrosg made a port of the metacity for Xfwm4! Enjoy his work!

For Gray lovers!

Changelog:

[Feb 19th,2006][1.7]
Unnoticeable changes in the metacity (polished some pixels).

[Feb 9th,2006][1.6]
Small fixes... modified metacity buttons... now minimize, maximize, close symbols (focused and pressed state) are more black.
Modified titlebar inactive color (a little brighter to be more homogeneous with all theme)

[Jan 31st,2006][1.5]
Great improvement! All pixmaps were converted to Grayscale! This has improved sharpness of widgets and theme performances (it is faster)!
(From 370KB to 265KB for the two themes)

[Jan 30th,2006][1.4]
Modified Metacity title focused color.
Modified some Gtk colors (bg, base and text... thanks to bvc!) to make the theme more usable.

[Jan 29th,2006][1.3.1]
Added KDE Color Scheme for all your QT applications under GNOME! (like k3b or skype!)
Follow the link!

[Jan 26th,2006][1.3]
Fixed metacity-shaded state.
Added a new metacity theme for Gray-Flat theme.

[Jan 24th,2006][1.2]
Improvements and fixes in metacity (now button borders have same colors of gtk theme buttons).
Changed tooltip background color.

[Jan 23rd,2006][1.1]
Update the gtk theme to "Mint" 2.0.
Then added a Gray-Flat version that ignored the menubar changes with "Mint" 2.0 (I prefer the Flat ones).
Fixed the font color in progressbar.
Fixed colors of metacity buttons.
Fixed alignment of metacity buttons.

[Jan 21st,2006][1.0]

It was my pleasure... ;) I'm happy if users like my theme...

PS: the new metacity works perfectly toghether with Gray-Flat! (Not at all with Gray, but this is due to the menubar...)

This theme is great. Very clean and stylish. Could you please make a wallpaper without the text?

The wallpaper is absolutely amazing, and perhaps deserves its own section. I'm currently using it with T-ish theme and seems to have been made for it, as well.

Would it be possible to make an alpha (.png) wallpaper so the underlaying color is seen through the shaded bands? I'm guessing that this is how you created the image, and it may be just a question of exporting everything but the deepest layer...

I actually meant both the pattern and the bands. I've made it myself easyly with the gimp, making the image a transparency mask of itself... I'm playing around that because I can now recolorize the image but it has lower contrast than yours....

Let me know if you are interested in it. Sure however that you can make it much better since your image is very very good.

Make the base and bg, active and selected, diff.

bg[ACTIVE] = "#E0E0E0"
bg[SELECTED] = "#c6c6c6"

base[ACTIVE] = "#E0E0E0"
base[SELECTED] = "#d5d5d5"

text[ACTIVE] = "#505050"
text[SELECTED] = "#353535"

...because Mint in wrong as well, I just don't use it. These colors should never be the same as it defeats the purpose of their existence. If a useable feature is there, why not use it?

Mod done... I'll release the 1.4 tomorrow.
Now I'm undecided about titlebar colors... #000000 for the text and #ffffff for the borders... I don't know...

This one is definitely in my rotation. I'm using the Gray-Flat with the Clearlooks 2.1 metacity and I've modded the gtkrc bg[SELECTED] = "#50749E". It rawks!

Also, was 1.4 version a slightly different color than just gray? Something looks different. I might go back to 1.4 just to make sure what it was...both look great though!

Nah, 1.5 is great. The only thing I'd change though is the panel. I'd prefer a solid background/color or whatever instead of the dual color you have going. I don't like the way the launcher (main menu) has a solid background and then the panel has the png background with the two colors.

That's just me though...
