Description:

Fast brushed Clearlooks theme made to loosely resemble OSX Tiger

Contains two variations: classic (fast) and aquastyle with blue decorations and aqualike scrolbars (not so fast), and two subvariations of each: normal and bright for different monitors.

Also it contains different metacity themes: T-ish-Brushed-Glass (now default) and T-ish-Brushed (classical flat). If you are using compizinstall T-ish-Metal compiz theme (link below).

Choose your desired combination through theme details dialog.

DOES NOT WORK WITH CLEARLOOKS-CAIRO !!

Based on Clerlooks engine, Ish GTK theme with additional buttons from Expose and GlossyP metacity borders.

Requires clearlooks engine.

IMPORTANT: In order to install all of the themes you'll have to manually extract to ~/.themes dir.

For best results use OSX icons, jaguax mouse theme, and Brushed firefox skin (links below).

To-do list:
- transparent panels

0.2 - Improved brush quality.
--------------------
0.3 - Added the brighter version of theme thanks to TheEye.

--------------------
0.8.2 - speed improvements, small bugfix
--------------------
1.1 - code cleanup, removed shaded-bright version since it's easily achievable with combination of T-ish borders and T-ish-Brushed-bright theme, added Aquastyle theme versions.
--------------------
1.2 - better shade of blue for aquastyle variation
--------------------
1.3 - finally the right kind of blue choosen for aquastyle variation, name change in order to avoid misunderstandings about requirements

--------------------
1.7 - more work on metacity borders, now one metacity theme works with all variations (and looks better:)), you can even combine it with other gtk themes since it inherits gtk default colors. themes are now selectable through main themes window. general cleanup of all directories is done.
---------------------

I like and admire your works !
and I think if you add border into notice message box, this theme will become beautiful.

Do you mean tooltops box (appears when hovering over something with mouse) or something else?

If that is something else can you please give me an example?

Thanks,

thanks a lot for this cool gtk-theme OS X-like!!

and to improve it, it would be nice if when we hit the arrows of the scrollbars the arrows highlight with this blue-color like the scrollbars!

 Gnome Panel

I really like the T-ish-Brushed theme, but the Gnome Panel Transparency doesn't work very well......the area's behind the Applications, Places, System area are filled in with the brushed gray instead of going transparent. The tish-aquastyle theme works great on the transparency....are you able to change that?

Thanks,

I'm working on it for some time now, but either I turn off too much brushed backgrounds, or tool little :)). I'm obviously missing some class declatrations in my .gtkrc to make this right.

So, it's on my to-do list and I will solve it sooner or later if it's solveable :))

Meanwhile I'm using gdesklets starterbar as transparent panel :))

Thx once again for the improvements. Please keep up the work since I am a really big fan of this brushed theme. The only thing I do not like are the icons - I prefer nuove xt. Do you use yourself the osx icons?

Would you mind to integrate in the buttons which close, minimize, fullsize the application in the window border a x,-,+ when the mouse gets near or over them?

Thanks again,

About icons: I tried NuoveXT and find them really good, but thing is, they just don't get very well with this theme (in my oppinion) so I use either OSX, gnome-apple or Snow-Apple (from art.gnome.org).

On the other hand if you are talking about stock icons (back, forward etc..) that I included in theme package I think they are essential for theme look and feel the way they are, and I don't intent to replace them. However they are easy to turn off (just comment out the "include iconrc" directive in gtkrc file) so it's a win-win situation :))

No, I just talked about the Icons for the folders etc. not the forward buttons etc. in the applications themselves. There I also think the apple based stuff looks better.

What about the window boarder (guess it was a misunderstanding). I was using an ibook the other day and when you get beneath them with the mouse in the buttons for minimzing, maximizing, closing the window appears a -,+,x. I think thats a good feature.

Oh, and yes about the +-x: I tried them once than it seemed to me as a "touch too much" since we already have visual aids that helps us to know which button is which.

But if more people would like to have those aids I will gladly add them, I just need little bit more pushing to do it. So if anyone reads this and thinks +-x are needed. please ract now.

 rounded arrows

by klix on: Dec 30 2005

Score 50%

hi!

another improvement to the teme could be that where the top or the left arrow is rounded with the scrollbar and when it reaches the top or the left it fits perfectly, when the scrollbar reaches the most-right or the bottom, it not fits perfectly

could be nice to see the scrollbar fits perfectly to all of the 4 arrows :-)

and again, thanks for this great theme!!!

Thanks,

Bitmapped themes are generaly slower than the plain surface themes. However, this one should be among the fastest in that group (at least it is on PC's where I tested).

Do you have clearlooks engine installed? If you do and is still slow than I recommend some of the non-bitmapped themes.

Cheers,
