Great is not the right word to explain this theme. However I see how it can be impoved:

- Scrollbars have very little prelight, maybe it's wise to make scroolbars the same color as default menu bar on hover?

- It would be nice if buttons changed color on hover, currently only text color changes to purple...

The best thing I like in this theme is that it has a big space for dragging windows on right bottom, as I resize windows way too much.

Finally something original. Keep up the good work.

Just one comment: The icons seem blurry.

http://pages.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/~hrpakdel/blurry.png

This could be because of the svg renderer?

I think this is made intentionally, otherwise why include additional icons where stock icons could be used.

Actually if you look too close, these 2 home icons, also back and up buttons are different.

I for example look the blurry look, it looks smooth :)

Yeah, the icons are made blury intentionally. You can find them in the themes folder.

I prefers replacing gtk-2.0/gtkrc include line with my own iconrc.
Here's how it looks:

http://users.ossm.org.mk/~tome/ana.png

I tried to capture as many stock icons as I can.
These icons are proprietary, so I don't plan on releasing an icon theme, although this theme covers almost everything in gnome 2.8 (full stock, menus, applets).
If anyone is interested, let me know. I'll send you the theme.

The icons will in fact be smooth,
but I'll try to make them less blurry.

 manager dumps core~

I've been using your other theme for a little while now (Anianian) without problems but Ana makes the theme manager dump core.

I'm using Gnome 2.8.1 on FreeBSD 5.3. Anybody else having this problem on 2.8.1?

I really like the Anianian; looks clean. I edited the gtkrc to have the sunken menubar like Ana.

Thanks for the nice theme~

Hmm, the theme doesn't work for me neither (ubuntu on ppc). When i select it in the theme manager i get the default gtk theme although i "apt-get -b source"'d librsvg to make sure that the svg engine is up and running without conflicts.
Weeks ago on debian SID i had similar trouble, even "apt-get -b source"'ing gtk didn't help.
(Of course i installed the packages after building them)

well, my system is Debian Sid (no tweaking) and everything works just fine, it's strange.

Are you running 2.8.1? I also think that Ana having to do with svg is the culprit. Anianion doesn't use svg; theme manager works fine with it (along with other themes like d3a and such).

I've actually had Ana up and running... but the theme manager dumps core and reloads (other erratic things like nautilus dumping core happens if I keep messing with the theme manager with Ana in the .theme directory).

Anianion (got it from his homepage) comes pretty close to Ana as far as looks are concerned. Maybe the next version of Ana will behave better.

If you have librsvg 2.7.x the theme may not display correctly at all times or at all.

I am running Gnome-2.8.1 on x86.
Are you sure, you are using the current version of Ana theme?
The problem with librsvg has been worked around in Ana-0.7.
Also try Tesla svg theme

and report any problems here.

I said it in the old post of the theme but want to say in w-Tarchalski's. This is the best, original, theme gnome has known. Great job! Of course, I liked the old text colors and have changed the new version to a blue, but it's great!

Why did you comment the panel out of the gtkrc? Promlems? I uncommented it and changed the engine to pixmap and haven't had any problems. Just thought I'd let you know. Thanks for the hard work!

which ones, prelighted? I didn't change anything else in text (I think ;))

No it worked fine, but not with vertical panels :(

yes, just the prelight. This is what I've currently using but I haven't taken the time to match it to the icons, which was my intent.
fg[PRELIGHT] = "#4d68a6"

none of my panelbg's go with vertical panels either. It's up to the end user to turn and flip them. I don't use them and see few that do. Anyone can flip an image. I love your panelbg, so I use it.
