Description:

Ambiance & Radiance For Xfce & LXDE Brings You The Ambiance & Radiance Themes (Newest Versions) built to work on the Xfce,LXDE & Openbox Desktops on any distro you want!
Just updated for GTK 3.14.

Fully Supports Ubuntu 15.04, 14.10 & 14.04. Debian 8 And Other Distros GTK Versions 3.10-3.12 & GTK 3.14. 3.16 is not tested but may work with 15.04 build.

Now with support for MATE and Cinnamon in new bundled theme "Ambiance-CinnaMATE"

New 15.04 Release Supports GTK 3.14 Debian 8 and *buntu 15.04 , May 8th 2015

With Fixes for XFCE Window Border Issues On Non Debain Distros (Not a issue on Debian), Fixes for Xubuntu Panel Indicator, Other Fixes and new specific version for MATE and Cinnamon are included in this update.

Radiance Now works just as well as Ambiance thanks to this update.

15.04 & 14.04.3 Update: This version has been majorly overhauled to work and look even better! Fixes are major and awesome. Update now!

Ambiance Now Has Full Dark Menus on XFCE , LXDE , MATE and GTK 2 Apps! A long requested feature,
Thanks and credit go to Benoit T who mastered it. check out his Theme Ambiance Crunchy as well.

XFCE Whisker Menu is now supported and looks great.

XFWM Window Borders now have unified bars (No more separator line).

XFWM Window Border sides are now 2px (bigger) to make resizing easy.

OpenBox Theme has been Updated so Buttons Animate when moused over properly.

XFCE and LXDE Panels now theme even better out of the box without issue. including panel widgets, apps, panel buttons etc.

This theme is a complete (And Probably the most comprehensive and tested) port of Ambiance & Radiance to Xfce,LXDE and Openbox with native window decorations and all.

Now you can easily have the look and feel of the Ambiance/Radiance themes (Default Ubuntu Themes) across any XFCE,LXDE and Openbox desktop. Leading to a unified and consistent desktop experience!

The Theme Consists Of:
-GTK 2 & 3 Theme. (14.04 Support)
-Metacity Theme (For Compiz)
-XFWM4 Window Theme (XFCE)
-Openbox Window Theme (Openbox & LXDE)

...In both Ambiance and Radiance.

(!) This theme will not effect Ubuntu's Stock Ambiance & Radiance Themes so don't worry! it's totally separate!

This Theme is based on the official Ambiance & Radiance themes, But is NOT however by, or endorsed in any way by the official Ambiance/Radiance team. but we have made as few changes as possible.

Hello There, I'm sorry, I'm just having a little bit of a hard time understanding your question.

Are you asking if you can get the openbox style buttons or border on the unity or xfce version?

Or vice verse?

My apologies for not understanding. :)

Oh I gotcha! Thats a cool Idea I like it. I hope to be able to put that together into a seperate window border theme. or into the next release depending on the design we use or if we change anything.

It might take a little bit. We (RAVEfinity) are in heavy development on alot at the moment.

very nice job thanks a lot!
i have 2 minor things that could be improved
firstly the buttons in gtk2 and gtk3 apps look different (different roundness) and secondly the xfce network monitor looks a bit weird and blurry

Thanks for the kind words And Your welcome.

And in response to the minor things you are seeing,
The Gtk2 vs the Gtk3 button roundness I believe is inherited from upstream Ambiance/Radiance correct me if I'm wrong. Since this theme is based on stock Ambiance/Radiance with changes for XFCE/LXDE I haven't made code changes to the buttons that I'm aware of. But I will see if I somehow need to fix something for XFCE. but this may be a issue with Ambiance/Radiance since GTK3 theme coding is a lot different then GTK2 and they are getting used to it too! I'll see if I can send a patch there way :)

The Wifi indicator widget, thats a more XFCE specific widget and might need some tweaks and variables set. Ambiance/Radiance aren't build to support XFCE so that may need to be added.
From what I can tell so far however it has something to do with the Progress Bar Indicator since its rounded.

What Panel size are you using 24?
Thanks for the feedback.

 Engine?

I'm using Arch and Openbox but the themes look squared in Gtk 2.0 apps... I'm guessing I'm missing the engine but I don't know what it is (and where to find it).. could help me on that?

But the themes look awesome anyway, thanks for the hard work ^^

Hey there, Sorry to hear your having a few problems on arch :( , Since arch is a roll your own distro I'm hoping that it will work for ya once the needed engines are installed.

This theme is based on stock ambiance/radiance so this theme uses the "Murrine" theme engine version 0.98 and newer only. if you use V. 0.90 it will not work.I'm doing some investigating hoping that it does not require a version patched by Ubuntu. Hope this helps let me know how it goes.

Hey I'm sorry for the late response, I actually didn't receive a notification of your comment till now :(

Anywho, To get the places menu on your panel as pictured just make sure this package is installed... "xfce4-places-plugin"

Then simply right click on the desired spot on the panel, now open the "panel" submenu then click "add new items" +

Now type in "places" in the search box click on Places widget and select add.

Now right click on the newly added file cabinet icon and Select -> Properties.
Now change the dropdown box to "Label Only" and make sure the label says "Places"

And you have it! A places menu, simply move next to the main menu or where ever you'd like.

Hope this helps. :)

 Nice and simple

Well done, thanks for the Xfwm4 ports. As for myself I do prefer the unified look, so I had to remove the bottom line of the top window border. And I totally cannot stand black tooltips with bright text on them. So I had to brighten them up a bit.

Aside from that a well done theme all in all.

Thanks!, I'm glad you like it.
Yeah I've gotten some feedback on the bottom line of the top window border. Stock Ambiance and Radiance do have it though. So for the moment I have left it as to keep the theme as close to stock ambiance and radiance as possible.

I have made changes allowing one to move the window buttons around. And I am seriously considering making another "poweruser" version made from users feedback. haha.
