Description:

This is a slight modification to the Shiki-Colors theme by Victor C.. As the name implies, I've changed the menus to a light colour, which I find easier to read. I've only modified three of the many Shiki colours- Brave (blue), Dust (brown) and illustrious (pink). The themes require the Gnome-Colors icons, also by Victor C.
I've used some code from the BSM Simple 0.8 theme by Bruno Schmidt Marques.
Basically all credit goes to the original authors of theses themes- I've just modified the colour scheme slightly.
This theme requires Murrine to render the panels properly- but only an old version- it'll work on Debian Lenny.
Please note that having light menus means that older versions of Firefox and Open Office do not display menus correctly- text is dark on a dark background. This is a bug in these programs not this theme. Debian users will be affected in Firefox and Open Office in Lenny and in Firefox in Squeeze. The problem in Firefox is fixed in 3.6 which Lenny and Squeeze users can get from the Debian Mozilla Team repository. The problem in OpenOffice in Lenny is fixed by upgrading to the version 3.2 in backports.

Changelog:

1.1 Added a missing image file.
1.2 Changed the colours in the xfwm4 file so that the title bar and icons match in XFCE.

Added GTK3 support. Tested on Debian Wheezy XFCE. Depends on Unico engine for some details.

 GTK3...?

Will this theme ever be ported to GTK3? It is my favorite, but without GTK3 support it makes all these newer GNOME apps look out of place.

This theme is only a slight modification to the Shiki theme- so look for a GTK2 version of that theme.

GTK3 themes use CSS files to set colours etc, and these are pretty easy to understand and edit, so if the Shiki author does it GTK3 version, changing the background menu colour shouldn't be too hard.

Shiki has been ported to GTK3.

I've done a version for of Shiki Colors Light Menus for Openbox which includes a GTK3 theme.

It also seems to work on Gnome 3 if you use Gnome Tweak to set it as the Window theme and GTK+ theme.

There's a Gnome Panel GTK3 CSS file that I haven't touched yet, so that may need editing too. When I get round to it, I'll look at it and update this theme for Gnome 3.
