Description:

Five GTK and Metacity themes to use with Equinox GTK engine 1.40 and Faenza icon theme.

To enable breadcrumbs in Nautilus Elementary, uncomment the following line at the end of each gtkrc file :

#include \"apps/nautilus-elementary.rc\"

To enable support of global menu, uncomment the following line at the end of each gtkrc file:

#include "apps/globalmenu.rc"

To use global menu with Equinox Evolution Midnight, you have to switch your metacity theme to the Equinox Evolution Dawn one from gnome-appearance-properties.

Known issues

Equinox Evolution
By default, the menu of Network Manager Applet does not appear in dark.
You can enforce this behaviour from the gnome-session-properties application. Locate the item corresponding to the Network Manager and change its command line from :
nm-applet --sm-disable

To:
bash -c \'GTK2_RC_FILEs=/usr/share/themes/Equinox\\ Evolution/gtk-2.0/apps/nm-applet.gtkrc nm-applet --sm-disable\'

Of course, you may change the path above if the Equinox Evolution theme is installed into your personnal folder (~/.themes).

Equinox Evolution Midnight
Gnome does not support well dark themes, so you may experiment:
* Some ugly controls in HTML forms with Firefox (but you can use Chrome/Chromium insteed)
* A dark background in all you OpenOffice/LibreOffice documents (but you can force the default background color of windows and documents in the application\'s options).
* Evolution appears particulary ugly: there is a hard-coded color value for the header of the left sidebar, treeview/list headers are displayed in dark, etc.
* Probably many other...

Changelog:

1.50
* New engine option resizegripstyle
* Support of global menu (must be manually enabled, see README file)
* Better support of Ubuntu One Client and Software Center
* Some fixes for Metacity themes in Ubuntu 11.04

Hi, after upgrade Evolution Dawn theme to 1.50, I have problem with other applets, than only with Network applet. Weather applet, Gnome NameDay (https://launchpad.net/~georgdh) are black as well as panel.

Thanks P.

Same problem, here. =|

I use the GNOME Sensors Applet and the temperature text is black. However, if I change the theme to Equinox Evolution Dusk, which uses the dark gnome-panel too, everything is fine (the text is white). There's anything we can do to solve this?

I've some problem with space selector and dark menu: look here http://upload.centerzone.it/images/22790510884654943776.png
In 1.40 theme version it looks great, now it looks like light-panel one.

There are big problems with the use of themes equinox (equinox evolution dawn in the screen) and the office suite LibreOffice. If you use the program LibreOffice Calc cards appear unreadable in low

The gtkrc file can be found in the gtk-2.0 directories in each theme.

That would be, for example for Equinox Evolution:
/usr/share/themes/Equinox Evolution/gtk-2.0

 Issues with Unity

 by DizzyWeb on: May 3 2011

Got a few issues with Equinox Evolution Dawn with Ubuntu 11.04 (Unity).

For a few programs (XChat, Pidgin) the mousepointer changes to white when the mouse is over the window, and, for the same programs, the titlebar text remains darkgray as if the window isn't active.

Both these issues don't occur with the default Ambiance theme.
