selected text color needed to be changed to black, not enough contrast to make selected text possible to read, (blue on blue) especially in banshee, but amazing use graphics on the transparencies, keep it up =]

Sorry, I never had used Banshee, and the black horizontal shadow in the middle of buttons, menubar and toolbar permit to use a cyan selected text, but you can change it on the gtkrc file if you think the black is more comfort to read for you (line 84).
Thanks for your comments ;)

Extract the Legacy.tar.bz2 file into your home/user/.themes

I am having the same issue. Have already extracted the file. I see the theme available, however when I select it the theme appears to look like very basic clearlooks/redmond theme with dark blue titlebars.

Check the Murrine engine version you have installed, this should to be the 0.98 or later.
If you have another previous version, write me to my email and I'll send you my engine and the instructions to install it.

 **SOLVED**

=^_^=

I can't believe I missed this. Just to point out I do not believe the mainstream repositories for Ubuntu 10.4 have been updated to gtk2-engines-murrine 0.98.

After finally sorting out all the required packages to compile murrine-engine 0.98 every thing is working as expected.

Thanks!

I don't know how to make an .deb package, sorry. I think you need the tools to compile. Open a terminal and type the next sentences:

sudo apt-get install build-essential make automake checkinstall

Then, try to compile the engine again.

I think you need to install the libgtk2-dev package. That error caught me as well.

 Not working

Hi.

I've tried compiling the Murrine's tar.gz file but not getting it so I've got the .deb from elegant's gnome website. This may help others with compiling issues:

https://launchpad.net/~elegant-gnome/+archive/ppa/+packages

It says Murrine's 0.98 install was done right, but how can I check the version I have running??

I've installed your awsome theme but makes only a couple changes like letter's colors and button's size/shape. I can't make it to work properly.

Please help me.

I don't know how to help you because I use Ubuntu, and I don't know what distro you use. My advice is to download and compile the official Murrine engine in the page of Cimitans:

http://www.cimitan.com/murrine/

Good luck ;)
