Hi,
It would be really gr8 if you add sound theme in Macbuntu.
I think Mac4Lin has sound theme support.
I had used Mac4Lin before but Macbuntu rocks.

Please try to add it.

Thanks.

Cheers.

Mac4Lin has sounds, but only for manual installation. Ubuntu 10.04 does not support changing the sound themes, I can say that they do not have any. I'll see what I will be able to complete. Thnx

Actually the sounds theme cand be changed like this:

copy the new theme folder to /usr/share/souns
This theme sounds have to be in .wav or .ogg an the .theme file.

Actually i don't know how to create that .theme file but,I really don't think that will be hard.

I also don't know about .theme file.
So I just renamed files that I want and put it in "/usr/share/sounds/ubuntu/stereo" dir. :)

Yesterday I made a prototype, but I had to delete some of the sounds today, it was too much noise.
Here the package ready for download:

http://www.losoft.org/blog/download/macbuntu/sounds.tar.gz

You can test it, and how you like it, I adds to the package. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks for this.
But somehow I don't know how to enable sounds for trash and system shut-down.
Otherwise everything is working fine.

Ajit

At this time, you can not completely change the fonts, I am already preparing hotfix.

To do this, you must perform the following steps:
1. Delete hidden file .fonts.conf from your home directory

rm -f ~/.fonts.conf

2. Edit the following files from the directory ~/.themes/Macbuntu-10.04/ and remove lines, which define the style and font size /font_name = "Lucida/

Now you can change the font from the SPAF

 Netbook edition!

How come it does not support netbook edition?
Is there some kind of limitation, other than screen resolution?

There are no limits for the theme itself, only the installation script is not adapted to this release of Ubuntu. The script configuring compiz, top panel, and a few other things that cause animation problems and system errors.
I'm going to prepare - in the near future - a script for this version, but it may take a while.
You can of course manually install individual components, ie, theme, icons, cursors, fonts, etc.

 Compiz effects Ubuntu 10.04x64

Hi!

Congratulations for the Macubuntu theme, it's excelent! but i had a problem with the compiz customization, after reboot, compiz doesn't start again (in a virtualbox ubuntu 10.04 x64), deleting the compiz lines in the install.sh file works pretty good for me! at interface level of course. Could you export your compiz profile file please? I really wanna get the macos desktop effects in my desktop pc, completing the Macubuntu transformation in that way. I have other issues about Macubuntu, if you want i can send you the information.

Thanks a lot!

I'm sorry, by mistake i sent you a message with this information

My mistake, I have not prepared a suitable compiz animations for Ubuntu x64, this is what causes the error in compiz. After you install the correct version, everything should work correctly.

It will take me a moment to modify the animation files. I'll give you know when they might be ready.

If you have other issues, please send me all information about. I will be grateful and will try as soon as possible to fix any problems.

I have tested on the VB and on the pure instance of Ubuntu 10.04 x64 on a laptop, works for me. Here is the Compiz profile

from a working system, maybe something will change.

I have a couple of screenshots of the first issue, before and after. The other issue is that the press button looks just like the normal button, then lose the effect of pressure when click it. I do not know if MacOS works that way, but I have changed the image to see that the button is pressed.

You know, there is no possibility tweak this theme as it looks in Mac OS X. In Mac every detail is polished to the pain, it is exactly you want it to be.
After all, personally, i think there is no better operating system than Linux (Ubuntu Linux), unfortunately it has a bad appearance.

In the Mac OS X, the dialog button does not change when you hover, it is getting blue only after pressing. Or maybe we should change it? Do you have an idea?

If that's the way Mac OS works, then should not change, but personally I like to see that the buttons change when you click them.
