 fix & suggestion

A little tiny thing that you must fix...

Pidgin... users that are on idle on the buddy list... are not readable their names.. the gray colored font of those idle users is pretty much almost the same as the background color you gave for the buddy list

Example(look in Buddies the 2nd user): http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/4127/screenshot1rx.jpg

Anyways as in testing on 10.10 the theme works nicely... previously used it on 10.04 as well it was very nice.

Could I make a suggestion.. is it possible for you to add a color on mouse over for the minimize(yellow), maximize(blue) & close(red) on the menu buttons? having them all the same circle symbol color *gray I think we can sometimes forget which is which - I've countless of times pressed the wrong one... or maybe you can add in the center the actual icon symbols for them on mouse over instead of my color suggestion.

laters thanks for creating such a great theam

Run Elegant GNOME app -> Help and read the part related to the Pidgin attentively.

About the window buttons, yeah possibly i'll add the colors on hover.

Open /home/alister/.mozilla/firefox/*.default/chrome folder and remove
UserCrome.css and UserContent.css files. But I strongly not advice you to remove userContent.css file at least you understand what you're doing.

I don't know what it is. And I don't see any reasons why some firefox extension should not work with this GTK theme.

 Theme issue with Firefox.

I can't write comments on certain websites as I can't see white font over white field, i.e. Ubucentrum.net or Webupd8.org. Any help? It's OK in Chromium but not in FF.

Did you install the theme as a pack or just a Gtk theme?
Do you have the userContent.css file in the ~/.mozilla/firefox/*.default/chrome folder?
Coz it looks like you don't have it.

Can you give me a direct link to the web-page, where you got such problems?( or even better if you'll make a screenshot with this problem)
Coz i also used to read the WebUpd8 website and as far as i can see, everything works fine. The userContent.css file should fix such inapropriate behaviour of the Firefox.

I tried creating new profile in Firefox but even then this problem persists.

Here is my screenshot:

http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/5203/zrzutekranuli.png

What I noticed, I got GTK errors whent starting FF in terminal:

Gtk-Message: (for origin information, set GTK_DEBUG): failed to retrieve property `GtkTreeView::odd-row-color' of type `GdkColor' from rc file value "((GString*) 0x7f46b4b24980)" of type `GString'

Of course it'll not work, because you've removed the profile folder. Ok i'll try to explain again. The only way to get it works is to have the userContent.css file in your "chrome" folder. So if you have removed your previous profile folder, go to /usr/share/themes/Elegant-GTK and copy the userContent.css file to ~/.mozilla/firefox/*.default/chrome, then restart the Firefox. That's it

This is what you should have:

 Text edit in white background

by ktsaou on: Oct 24 2010

Score 50%

Hi,

This theme is really setting a new level of style for Gnome and Linux. Thank you very much.

One little annoying thing: Text editing (gedit, medit, etc) should show black text on white background.

The way it is now, it is really difficult to work, especially if the editor has syntax highlighting that has been designed for white background.

Regards,

Costa

Actually I use the dark highlighting schemes for the Gedit(Geany)(like Zenburn or Oblivion). The Oblivion scheme goes with the Gedit by default and it should be enabled by the Elegant GNOME app during the installation, but if it hasn't been enabled, run Gedit -> Edit -> Preferences. Go to Font & Colors tab and choose the Oblivion theme.

Btw, if you're using Ubuntu i advice you to add this PPA:
ppa:ubuntu-on-rails/ppa
and install the package "gedit-gmate"
You'll get a huge list of the different highlighting schemes and some cool plugins.

 Great theme.

Hi. First off, great theme. It shows that you have put alot of time and effort into it. thanks for that.

3 things i'd like to ask/mention.

1. I like the firefox theme, but would like to make the tabs bar not dark. is it possible?

2. In nautilus elementary, the display buttons have a little white border on the corner. Screenshot:
http://bit.ly/aTz8S9

3. It show that the theme was designed for those with a taskbar on the bottom. But for those of us with it on the top of the screen, it looks a bit funny... ie, no padding and border on bottom of the app title.
screenshot:
http://bit.ly/9C3xAl

Again, thanks for the theme :)
