 Excellent theme

Excellent theme. I think it's best Murrine theme.
Excellent performance of the graphical installer with the possibility to restore the previous configuration.
I would ask only one thing: in future updates or releases to make a .deb installation file.
If I could give them 1000 points.

There are the packages for Ubuntu Lucid and Maverick, or are you talking about Debian?

No. I use Ubuntu since Hardy Heron but I have a "vice" with the debian packages ...

So, actually i don't understand what is the problem. If you use Ubuntu(Lucid or Maverick), you can add the Elegant GNOME PPA and get the automatic updates through your package manager...

It's great, I'm planning on using it in my next operating system, but if you could recommend some kind of app switcher, Mac OS X has the dock, Windows has the Taskbar. What does Linux have? Even though OS X is Linux.

MIDAS IS THE NAME OF THE NEW OS.

 Hi!

I'm using Debian testing and I did the installation from source. Everything went fine but at the end this was an error;

[CODE]
root@HONOR:/home/blackshadow/Downloads/elegant-gnome-0.9.0# make cache
sh -c "/usr/share/gnome-menus/update-gnome-menus-cache /usr/share/applications/ > /usr/share/applications/desktop.en_US.UTF-8.cache"
sh: /usr/share/gnome-menus/update-gnome-menus-cache: not found
make: *** [cache] Error 127
root@HONOR:/home/blackshadow/Downloads/elegant-gnome-0.9.0#
[CODE]

I did go to Applications/Accessories/Elegant GNOME, the theme was installed but the colors were not applied. I had basic blue/white color scheme. Also I did install Droid fonts but my previous fonts were not changed. Mouse pointer was the same. I have murrine engine installed and I did log out/in.

I'm not using Nautilus Elementary, maybe that's one of the reasons why installation didn't go well? Is it really necessary to have N.E.?

Another question, would adding the repo you've provided be a good option, since I'm using Debian?

I did not read all the comments, there are too many, so I don't know if this was answered already. All in all the theme looks good and I gave you my vote.

First of all, look at this:
http://itmages.ru/image/view/60231/17795a70
This is the Elegant GNOME pack on fresh Debian installation.
As you can see, everything works as it is.

Quote:
I have murrine engine installed and I did log out/in.

If you have the murrine engine from Debian repo, so the theme WILL NOT work with it, coz it's too old. And actually i've wrote in description, that you must have the latest murrine engine from Git.

It's not critical to have the Nautilus Elementary, but the regular Nautilus will look quite ugly with this theme, coz it was optimized for Nautilus-Elementary.

So what you can do. I've just tested the Ubuntu packages on Debian and they work fine, so:
1. Remove previous installation:
a)In Elegant GNOME app choose the "Restore the previous settings"
b) Run in terminal: sudo make uninstall
2. Download this tarball:
http://ompldr.org/vNW1lYw/elegant-gnome.zip
3. Install this .deb packages
4. Run in terminal:
cd /usr/share/icons/AwOken/clear/128x128
ln -fs ../start-here/start-here-debian.png ./places/start-here.png
cd /usr/share/icons/AwOken/clear/24x24
ln -fs ../start-here/start-here-debian.png ./places/start-here.png
5. Launch Elegant GNOME app and install the theme.

OK, everything went fine this time.

I did saw that it have to be the "latest" version of murrine, but I had to try the Debian way first.

One more question, you have option to configure GDM2 but in Debian testing there is GDM3. Will that work?

Thanks for the response!

It's a great theme.

I'm really having trouble installing this on opensuse, I don't want you to do this for me, but, I could use some one-on-one.

BTW, I'm a 13 year old genius.

Well, firstly, I'm using susestudio to make the OS, and coding for the makeup, I had to add the sudo package just to do the sudo command, and everytime I enter the rest, to do the command, the command isn't found. So, perhaps I need to add a repository, or a package, but I'm not sure which one. And watch package should I download, there's like 4.

Yeah, sudo is not installed on the Suse by default, so you have to install it manually. Or you can use the "su" command, and then run "make install"

P.S. Make sure that you have the latest Murrine engine.
