Description:

Simple, clean and elegant.

The icon theme I use is a little bit modified well known elementary-monochrome (by DanRabbit). The mod called absolute-mono can be downloaded here: http://rghost.net/1975508

To use version 0.7 one should install the latest version of murrine engine (corresponding deb-files attached).

0.7.7 - Fixed the problem with right-bottom corners in Ubuntu 11.04 apps.
0.7.6 - Changed gtk-menu-popup-delay to fix submenus blink in qt4 apps.
0.7.5 - Tuned appearance of menu items a bit. Squared variant of the theme is added.
0.7 - Tuned appearance of some widgets. Changed 'selected' color. Modified metacity as well.
0.6 - Fixed small bugs in metacity theme. Added an alternative metacity theme.
0.5 - Added menu button in metacity. Made a variant of metacity theme centering title text (see screenshot 3).
0.4 - Fixes in metacity.
0.3 - Modified progress bars a bit.
0.2 - Changed appearance of metacity's pressed buttons. Some fixes in gtk.
0.1 - Initial release.

Ok. To install this theme you should uncompress downloaded archive and move all the folders from there into a directory "/home/your_user_name/.themes/". If this target directory does not exist then first you should create it.

1. Can you make a dark (like black or very dark gray) version of this theme?

2. In Chrome/Chromium the tab bar uses the same gray as elsewhere so its indistinguishable. Maybe provide a version with a dark menubar?

Besides those two minor quibbles, I really like this theme.

Thank you for interesting suggestions. Generally speaking, I have already thought of dark versions of this theme, but unfortunately I have not any free time during last months. If I have spare time I'll try to make it. Thanks.

0.7 not working it complains about line 262 in gtkrc

I installed 0.6 and it works, I also have he latest murrine-0.90.3.git

By the way what is the difference between all the different versions? alt -center-alt?

If you have the latest murrine from git then the theme must work. Try one of the deb packages I made (see above). The versions from last ubuntu/fedora releases also work.

The difference between all the alt versions is in location of the metacity's buttons and window title.

This theme has a bug that affects QT applications. To test, install Clementine music player. To test, go to playlist>shuffle mode and watch the dropdown menu flicker when the cursor moves. Apart from this, the theme is absolutely perfect, and is one of only a few, which is why I would really like this fixed.

А в чем проблема? Можно использовать иконки faenza. А я использую немного измененную версию elementary monochrome.

Проблему решил. Удалением hicolor и locolor. Это только в Убунте монохромные по умолчанию.
