Description:

Equinox Baery is a theme (GTK and Metacity) for the GNOME desktop. This theme uses the Equinox GTK Engine which is based on the beautiful Aurora engine. This theme is a modified version of Equinox Radiance (now called Equinox Variance). The reason I modified this already awesome theme was because I was unhappy with the dark GNOME panel. Baery has a light panel along with some other small changes.

+ Required: GNOME 2.30
+ Required: Equinox GTK Engine 1.30

+ Recommended: Elementary icon theme
-- https://launchpad.net/~elementaryart/+archive/ppa

+ Recommended: Nautilus Elementary
-- https://launchpad.net/~am-monkeyd/+archive/nautilus-elementary-ppa

+ Optional: Use Themes as Root (For Update Managers/Synaptic/GParted/etc)
-- Manually create a system link to /root/
-- Follow these terminal/command line instructions:
1. Open terminal and type: sudo ln -s ~/.themes/ /root/
2. Hit enter

+ Installation:
1. Install the Equinox GTK Engine
2. To install the theme, extract the content of the archive in your ~/.themes folder.

Changelog:

Version 1.1
* Metacity theme replaced by Equinox Evolution Squared by Matthieu James.

Version 1.0
* Metacity theme replaced by the Metacity theme from Equinox Light by Matthieu James.

Version 0.9
* Fixed: Dependency for Equinox Radiance removed. Theme now uses it's own copy of the Metacity theme.

Version 0.8
* Added Equinox Baery Cy3: A green version of Equinox Baery.

Version 0.7
* Scrollbar style from elementary GTK applied to sidepane.

Version 0.6
* Theme was updated for Equinox GTK Engine version 1.20.
* Background image applied to the gnome-panel.

Version 0.5
* Changed the appearance of the sidebar.

Version 0.4
* Added support for breadcrumbs in the toolbar (requires nautilus-elementary).
* Fixed: The separator for the side panel didn't display correctly.

Version 0.3
* Fixed: Main menu still appeared black.

Version 0.2
* Changed colors of tooltips.

Version 0.1
* Initial version.

 Gorgeous!

I have been using your theme for the last couple of days & absolutely love it. Very elegant & a perfect fit for Lucid!

Are you planning any more future releases? I'd love to see (optional) support for the breadcrump-navigation of Nautilus Elementary!

I'm glad you like it! Most credits go to the author of Equinox Radiance though, since most part of the theme is his work (I just modified gtkrc a little).

I'll see if I can get the breadcrumbs working ;)

 equinox engine on lucid

I think the themes based on the equinox engine look gorgeous.. probably the best. However, I was wandering why nobody is reporting the problem I'm having with this engine in nautilus(only lucid). I'm having thick borders in the side panel, and left and right in the main window. Also tried nautilus-elementary. Anyone?

I think I know what you mean. I already fixed this in Equinox Baery version 0.4. Let me know if it fixed your issue.

U r right! The thick borders in the main windows are fixed. Sorry, I wrote before testing coz I tried so many equinox themes with the same result. However..Additionally I had to add this:

GtkTreeView::odd_row_color = @bg_color
GtkTreeView::even_row_color = @bg_color

to nautilus-sidebar.

Otherwise I was still getting the same thing in the sidebar. Can U please tell me how U fixed it in the main window?

Just today I released version 0.5. I made some changes to the sidebar, it should look much better now (the thick border should be gone as well).

I have actually no idea how I fixed it. I'm new to theming myself, so I just played around with the settings a bit until it was fixed.

Now, just turn it blue or green and you've got yourself a download!

You should update the themes dependencies since now Radiance is Variance...

(green one is nice) ;)

This probably caused the theme to display improperly for many people. Thanks for letting me know! It's been fixed in version 0.9.
