Description:

This is my attempt to revive a theme that I liked but never got released.

Because of the close integration between the GTK and Metacity themes you will find:

* That the titlebar font size works best between 8-10 (using sans bold as an example). Depending on your monitor 11-12 may still be acceptable.

* That you cant change the windows background color (due to the GTK and Metacity theme integration).

* That KDE, Java and wxWidgets applications dont look as intended. I am looking into fixing this if possible.

Those points aside if you are like me and 99% of your applications are GTK you should have no problems... and the result look fantastic!

If you find a GTK application that hasnt themed correctly please report it below and I will see what I can do.

And lastly if you have the time it would be great if you could vote and comment on the theme. Note that this is my first attempt at a GTK theme so please be kind :-)

This theme requires the latest Murrine Engine.

Excellent work. I've been looking for this kind of theme for a long time. It's clean, light and sober, exactly what the default ubuntu theme should be. In my opinion, blending the title bar and the foreground window is the best choice.

Looking good so far. I have a couple of suggestions:

1. Make the button colour a little lighter, that'll make them "pop" much more.

2. I'd be tempted to add a simple gradient to the menuitem selection.

Still a good start. Keep at it!

Hey, the Metacity theme is nice...but the GTK theme doesn't work in Fedora. Thoughts?

Germán.

OK thanks.

BTW, you don't need to put a link to the Fedora RPM packages of Murrina engine, because it is in the official Fedora repositories :-)

Cheers,
German.

Hey! I uninstalled murrine version 0.90.3 from my Fedora 12 and installed murrine 0.91.0 from git, and now it works perfectly with various themes that had stopped working some days ago, included this one. So, I packaged murrine from git for Fedora, take a look here:

http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=122064

The shot is with this theme. Thanks!

Cheers,
Germán.

 Use Murrine for menubars

Please use murrine for menubars and other widgets, if you have troubles with the line around the menubar, just decrease contrast

I am using the murrine engine for the widgets. The hardest thing I found with this theme was getting the background showing thru all/some widgets like GtkToolbar, GtkHandleBox, GtkMenuBar. I found that using a combination of engine "" and bg_pixmap = "<parent>" I could disable what seems to be the hardcoded background fill for most of these.

Any thoughts on another way to place a background on a GtkWindow and have all the other widgets (mentioned above) backgrounds transparent?
