 Nice but...

...Why does it require UbuntuLooks? Currently installing the UbuntuLooks engine on Ubuntu requires the uninstall of the Human theme, as well as a few other packages I'd rather not part with.

Thanks Alot for the input :)

You Don't need to worry about The "UbuntuLooks" Theme engine requirement it is just a glitch with a config file that makes it report that it wants it. it's not needed as it isn't used at all in the theme. In fact as you said i don't recommend installing that engine either!
I Hope to have that fixed soon. Thanks :)

Your stated goal is to "make it as beautiful or better then Windows(TM) or Macosx(TM) but in it's own unique way". This is something I applaud.

Can you try to make the Metacity theme resemble Vista/Win7 a bit less, but still look nice? The Metacity theme (and to a certain degree the GTK theme) looks just a little too much like Windows.

Keep up the good work.

Once again thank you :)

Good thought there too!,I Was considering that as well, but one thing that bothered me is that alot of the meta-city themes are very weird looking now and i didn't want to go in that extreme path. I'm trying to create a new unique one thats not too windows like right now :D

You might try porting some of the Aurorae themes from the KDE side of things. Here's what I typically use when I'm in KDE: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php/Radial+%28thin+borders%29+Aurorae?content=115839

 Beautiful, but...

I like your new theme. It's one of the most beautiful I've seen so far and I would like to use it. I also like your philosophy. Kudos to you and your work! Thanks for sharing.

Now the but part... I am having trouble getting it installed properly. I know how to install themes and have installed many themes previously. However, I am getting this error: "This theme will not look as intended because the required window manager theme 'iRaveH20 Metacity' is not installed." I have uninstalled and reinstalled the theme but continue to get the same error and the "Window Border" does not look right. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

By the way, my view differs from the previous post. I like the look just fine. You have done a great job. It doesn't look like Windows to me. You don't need to port any other theme, KDE or otherwise. Why do that? Yours is great just as it is. Now if I can only get it to install correctly...

Oops, the "iRaveH20 Metacity" entry (with a big question mark) just disappeared from the Customize-Window Border list. I selected "iRaveH20" instead and now the Windows Border looks as it should. We'll see if this sticks...

Thanks for your feedback and i'm glad you enjoy the theme :)

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you had. There is a slight issue with a config file making it report it wants the "UbuntuLooks" Engine installed. It however doesn't need this engine and it can be safely ignored. im working on fixing this message but everything should work fine for now. so you can disregard the message safely for now, sorry for any inconveniences. :( I hope it works for ya :)

Very nice. I like it! This is definitely an improvement over the last version. I, also, was not a fan of the orange. I like the other changes you've made as well.

I like this theme so much I am converting my Ubuntu desktops over to it!

I don't know who is giving you the negative votes but you deserve much higher marks. Here's one from me.

Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work!

Love the theme! Keep up the good work!

I have a thing for themes with all the window corners round, maybe make an all rounded version?

 sorry

is this really a serious effort at a unique theme? sorry if it comes across bad, but honestly, it's not that good a theme, and it looks like windows all over again. I really don't see how it improves on anything?

I would suggest trying to work with the murrine/aurora/nodoka engines (Which are actually unique on their own).

Honestly, not flaming here, this is not exactly impressive, stunning, or interesting as yet.

Maybe I'll have to wait and see the future.

Well Thanks for your lovely comment sir.
its so nice to hear from someone who has "0" Uploads themselves. i clearly can tell you know all about it! Thanks for making my day.

As to why i don't base it off other theme engine? that answer is quite simple. I feel there's enough of those already and they all look quite similar.

Thanks for you lovely comment.

No offense meant, but I agree with rolandixor. It looks a lot like windows vista, only a little darker and bluer. This is not an attack. Clearly you have the ability and know how to make interesting themes. But it's evident that I'm not the only one who thinks that this theme looks way too much like windows.

Oh OK i understand how you may feel that way :) And your comment isn't offensive. I'm still in early stages of the theme and i think what looks most like vista is the window borders. I'm reworking those to be new and different. so hopefully it wont.

It's still strange to me this could be the case as alot of the granites and graphics are based on in-house and other open source themes that resemble no such thing. that's why it sorta bugs me. are you saying themes all have to look like flat and simple Gnome themes just to not look like vista?

Not at all. With this theme, the color pallet, glossiness of the menu and toolbars, and the distinct glassy hue of the menubar remind me of vista. And you're right, the metacity theme does contribute to that. The progressbar, range slider, and buttons also seem vistaish to me, although the colors are different. However, i like your scrollbars, tabs, and checkboxes. I think they are unique and not like any other OS.
After running the theme on my own desktop, I will say that the screenshots made it look more vista-ish than it really is.

yeah I know I came across as a bit offensive there =/ sorry (must have been having a bad day, as is usual for me)...

I'm just waiting to see where you take the theme... don't give up on it, just try to migrate away from the vista elements.

Who knows some day there might be an iRave distro.
