Description:

Try to make a clear and compact theme, needs murrine, pixmap and aurora gtk engine.

the zip file contain the panels backgrounds, backgrounds source and the GTK theme.

------------------------------------------

I installed the nautilus elementary version, so I themed the nautilus to fit with the new look of the file manager, if you have installed the elementary nautilus and want to try the look in the screenshot, follow the next steps:

1.- go to ~/.themes/cafelate/gtk-2.0/
2.- open the gtkrc file
3.- comment the line 943 (add the # symbol at the line begin)
4.- uncomment the line 944
5.- restart the theme

pd.-sorry for the bad english
pd2.- please, let me know how it looks on the nautilus's normal version, i couldn't test on it

Changelog:

1/02/2010
- add pixmaps in the menuitems
- add theme for elementary nautilus
- remove windows pixmap background
- remove pixmap in the second toolbar of nautilus (the location bar)
- some bugfixes

02/01/2010
fix some bugs with the text panel color, the font size, an missing png

For me IT's a famous theme, I think it's one of the first theme (with DUST) I downloaded when I came on Linux.
Thanks again for your themes !

 REAL nice!

I like this a lot, but here's a couple complaints nonetheless :-P

1. In Nautilus the divider between places and bookmarks is missing. Actually I also like the button-like breadcrumbs which you've replaced with folder names that hang in open space! In any case, how about that divider?!

2. The theme doesn't observe system fonts properly. I know you wanted to make it compact, but...

3. The panel only supports icons with transparent backgrounds. Yeah, I can just use another panel background, and yeah, gnome-panel is crap and should support transparency better.

This is now my favorite theme. I really like the scrollbars and window decoration!

hi, thanks for you feedback:

1. yes I agree with you, I'm proving some variants to the divider and the breadcrumbs but for the moment none like me

2. you right, solved

3. I don't understand what you mean

sorry for the bad english

Regarding 3, I guess it is just a bug with Banshee's Notification Area Icon plugin. Even when the icon has a transparent background, the background comes out black in your theme. I guess it is a problem with murrine or pixmap generally and the plugin, because even when I change the panel background to an opaque image (e.g. the Shiki panel image) the bug is still there. I've disabled the plugin for the moment, but it adds some nice functionality for us Banshee users!

Thanks for the update!

I'm trying to fix that, I noted the same behavior with other themes and other applications like pidgin. But still nothing.

there is a panels-backgrounds.tar.gz file in the zip, extract the content in some folder like ~/Images and go to the panel> right click and select properties> background tab> background images> browse the two images and done

Not necessary, simply modify your code adding this line to the panel properties:

fg[NORMAL] = "#fff"
