Description:

::Introduction::

So what is CopperDeck? CopperDeck was originally a windowblinds theme created by Treetog, now in its second carnation it has become one of their most prominent themes with over 500,000 downloads! I decided to have a go at creating a port for gnome and this is the result.

::Development::

I have now virtually finished completing the gtk and metacity themes, as well as the icon theme. As this is still not a totally complete theme i would appreciate getting any feedback that i could use to improve the theme.

Thanks and i hope you enjoy my theme =)

::Installation Instructions::

1. Download the file and place on your desktop
2. Open a terminal and run these commands:

sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/CopperDeck /usr/share/themes

3. Open the theme manager, you can now
select the CopperDeck theme,
when you click on it, it will apply the gtk and metacity themes as well as the icon and cursor themes if you have them installed. It will also give you the option of using the wallpaper provided with this theme.

0.1.1 - Small improvements in line with Nitroflows suggestions

 Changes I'd like to see...

Not too fond of the taskbar button shape(too stretched/doesn't feel right) and the menu left border bar makes it more difficult to quickly distinguish the icons(IMHO makes more sense without menu icons enabled and in that case only if it isn't covered by text).
Other than that it looks awesome but like all the pixmap themes I'm guessing the progressbars initially will be shown with a 90 degree rotation.

Thanks for your feedback, i have to admit looking back i have to agree with both of your points and ill see what i can do about improving them before releasing them =). As for the progress-bars yes sorry but like all other pixmap themes (at least as far as im aware) when very small they do use the alternate image.

James, WOW, just.. WOW! If this is just the preview I can't wait to see the finished product. And you're working on a matching icon theme too? This may just become my default desktop theme, it's beautiful. Good work!

 I haven't try it yet but...

Is it me or the wallpaper from the 3-rd shot is not widescreen, witch makes the circle look stretched, OR it's one of your "cool" effects.

Does this http://www.skinbase.org/rate.php?skins=9921 answer your question?

I don't. That's what i meant. And I can't seem to find a widescreen version anywhere. And if the author is trying to be as faithful as possible to the original I see no point in making a distorted version. Therefore the wallpaper is being scaled. But then again that's only my guess.

Sorry, i had no idea this would spark so much debate lol. Ive simply scaled the original image to fit my widescreen laptop, theres no real reason to it other than thats what i do to all of my wallpapers by default. I havent got the greatest vision anyway, i hadn't even noticed that it looked distorted myself lol.
