Description:

A version of this Azenis Theme is now the default theme for Ultimate Edition 2.3!!

Download now contains a more compact Netbook version

::Introduction::

What is Azenis I hear you say? Azenis was originally a windowblinds theme created by J.J.Ying, now in its second carnation it has become one of their most prominent themes with almost 200,000 downloads. It has also been ported to KDE by Ezy where it has proved equally successful. I decided to have a go at creating a port for gnome, i got permission from both J.J.Ying and Ezy and this is the result.

::Development::

I have currently uploaded a standard black and blue version as well an icon theme. Various other coloured versions including red, green, purple and gold versions of theme has also been created by myself and others. whilst a whiter version is still in progress that i hope to have ready soon. Please feel free to post comments and suggestions

Thanks and i hope you enjoy my theme

::Package contains::

-Gtk and Metacity Themes
-Nautilus Background
-Default Wallpaper
-Font
-Netbook version (Metacity and gtk)

::Installation instructions::

1. Download the file and place on your desktop
2. Open a terminal and run these commands:

sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/Azenis /usr/share/themes

3. Open the theme manager, you can now
select the Azenis theme,
when you click on it, it will apply the gtk and metacity themes as well as the icon and cursor themes if you have them installed. It will also give you the option of using the wallpaper provided with this theme.

Alternatively you can download the deb installer package created by TheeMahn, it is currently consistent with the 0.2.7 release of Azenis and contains Azenis, Azenis red as well as both of their matching icon themes, wallpapers, GDM, a Grub splash and the Usplash theme

::Links::

Lots of other really great Azenis Skins and themes to compliment the look created by others in the community. I strongly recommend a look =)

Wow, this looks really good. I really enjoy the carbon-fiber look. I've been waiting for something like this. Plus it looks good with my new Firefox theme (Noia I think it is)

i think there's something wrong with the metacity theme; when big windows (about over 800 px wide) are shaded there's a blank space in the title bar.

Thankyou very much for posting the picture it was very useful. I had a look into it and initially thought it could be due to you having a larger screen than my own (i only have a small laptop) however im now not so convinced. AS you rightly said you had 2 gap problems but also as far as i could see you were also not getting the top left and right corners of the theme. Basically after playing around with it abit i confess i came up empty handed all i can suggest is trying the new version that i haves just updated and see if you still experience the same problems. Ive changed quite a few bits of it so hopefully i may have inadvertently fixed it. Let me know if you still have any problems. Thanks again,

all the best,

James

I downloaded the last version, but the problem continues. I hadn't noticed the issue on the corners, but it is still there.
Still, they're minor details on a cool theme.
By the way, the icons could be a little more to the right, to be more centered in the space for icons.
Bye.

ya ive been working on getting this right, unfortunately if i move them any further to the right it gets partially to fully obscured depending on how far you move it. Gives me something to work on still i guess. Im sorry the new version still didn't work for you i really don't know what the problem could be. I don't suppose you have had similar experiences before with any other themes have you?

No, it's the first time I experience this problem, and it's a shame, 'cause I like the theme.
Good luck finding the problem.

I hope you don't mind I have began modding your / JJ's theme red & black. You can see screenshots & even a video of me installing it in Ubuntu from here http://forumubuntusoftware.info/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=3222 it is debianized with a GDM / USplash / Grub splash. It has not been released to the public. The red is now darker then can be viewed there.

Hi TheeMahn,

Im flattered youve taken such a liking to the theme. Im a big fan of Ultimate Edition and use it pretty frequently, its a great distro. I like what youve done with the theme it looks very slick. Funnily enough i had been intending to create a red version of the theme myself once id finally finished completing this version, but it looks like you could have saved me the effort now =) All the best finishing it up and with UE for the future =)

James

Thanks brother, I hope to make you and JJ Famous or is it infamous ;) You gents did a great job and deserve to be commended. I will inform you the iconset as the shots show have been scrapped (artistic licensing), I have been converting only 15000+ of them from my UE 2.2 pack ;)

Regardless of the outcome it will be released GPL

Thanks again,

TheeMahn
