Description:

A version of this Azenis Theme is now the default theme for Ultimate Edition 2.3!!

Download now contains a more compact Netbook version

::Introduction::

What is Azenis I hear you say? Azenis was originally a windowblinds theme created by J.J.Ying, now in its second carnation it has become one of their most prominent themes with almost 200,000 downloads. It has also been ported to KDE by Ezy where it has proved equally successful. I decided to have a go at creating a port for gnome, i got permission from both J.J.Ying and Ezy and this is the result.

::Development::

I have currently uploaded a standard black and blue version as well an icon theme. Various other coloured versions including red, green, purple and gold versions of theme has also been created by myself and others. whilst a whiter version is still in progress that i hope to have ready soon. Please feel free to post comments and suggestions

Thanks and i hope you enjoy my theme

::Package contains::

-Gtk and Metacity Themes
-Nautilus Background
-Default Wallpaper
-Font
-Netbook version (Metacity and gtk)

::Installation instructions::

1. Download the file and place on your desktop
2. Open a terminal and run these commands:

sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/Azenis /usr/share/themes

3. Open the theme manager, you can now
select the Azenis theme,
when you click on it, it will apply the gtk and metacity themes as well as the icon and cursor themes if you have them installed. It will also give you the option of using the wallpaper provided with this theme.

Alternatively you can download the deb installer package created by TheeMahn, it is currently consistent with the 0.2.7 release of Azenis and contains Azenis, Azenis red as well as both of their matching icon themes, wallpapers, GDM, a Grub splash and the Usplash theme

Lots of other really great Azenis Skins and themes to compliment the look created by others in the community. I strongly recommend a look =)

 Didnt install fully

Ive got a soft spot for black and blue themes, and this fits the bill. I downloaded the .tar.gz and ran the terminal command with no problems. its there in the appearance settings, but it doesnt have the metacity window controls, so im stuck using a different window theme. i looked for it but its not there. plus, everything doesnt look exactly like your previews. any idea what the issue is?

I love this theme exactly what I was looking for. I have 1 problem though and it's not with the theme. Could you by any chance tell me how to install the icon for gnome menu. Also I have 1 suggestion, you should change the cursor to where when you hover over a link it changes.

Hi, im glad you like the theme, the icon itself is one ive adapted for my own use, im not sure that it is publically available, i'll have a dig around for it and upload it if i can for you. As for the cursor, i didn't actually create that myself, it was ported by Kuduk. Im not really that proficient at cursor themes myself, your probably best off talking to him about adjustments. You can find the theme here...

I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 Alpha 3, and I found a little hack that works:
Copy and paste the gtk-2.0 folder to gtk-3.0

 font and menu

Awesome theme! I'm using mint, I've installed it only problems I'm running into is that it won't install the fonts. I installed it via the theme manager. It asks me to install font and when I select accept it won't continue. For the other items that worked fine. The second problem is can't get my menu to look like the demo screenshot. And I tried installing the clock via the way that gnome-look site instructions say, but that location doesn't exist in my system. But that's not too much of deal.

 Linux Mint 12 Gnome Classic

Hiya James,

Since I discovered your first works I was always astounded. Yet this time you made awes0me hard coding work and were very busy with it ^ ^. Your theme looks excellent on any Gnome 3, sometimes there are some differences, but having Azenis on Linux is awesome enough to be truly happy.

As I am now :)

I'm using Linux Mint 12 with Compiz, so mostly I'm switched to Gnome Classic. I wonder if you could share Gnome classic Azenis based distro, bacause some guys, like me, wonder if I could have compiz and azenis at the same time.

Is it possible you could help with da simple theme or is it technically impossible?
