 Good for familiarity's sake.

You know, this would be nice to toss into my Xubuntu install for use on the Guest accounts.

The only hang-up I have is that the text on the panels for things like the clock, the inactive windows in the taskbar, etc., should be white. Otherwise, +1 good from me.

Krig, on XFCE, most GTK themes that call for white text on the panels fail to make that text white. Hellion0, what you need to do is download and install a program called XFApplet, which lets you use GNOME's applets on XFCE's panels.

When you right-click on the XFCE panel, just select "XFApplet", and it'll give you a list of GNOME applets you can use. For example, you can select the clock, and it'll display with white text, right there in XFCE! :-)

I've got Ubuntu (GNOME) on my desktop computer but Xubuntu (XFCE) on my laptop, and I've got that on there, and it works flawlessly! :-) Give it a try, I think you'll like it.

 Little error on Metacity

 by mathieu147 on: Mar 7 2009

Hi,

Looks great! But the spacing of the buttons in the titlebar is no 100% correct.

This is your work:
http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/6466/screenshot3q.png

This is the real WinXP:
http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/7329/screenshot2c.png

The problem is that your bar is 1 pixel too thin + your buttons are 1 pixel too high. Result: the buttons are 2 pixels too high.

IF you read the description, you should have noted that krig did not make the metacity so you are pointing this out to the wrong person.

Try Here:

Hi Kris never thought XP would be this popular....lol

Thanks for pointing the error origin... :)
me too never thought about being so popular the theme... maybe the blue is magic ;D
as you saw already is a theme I made time ago, maybe is a return to origin (at least the interface only) for a lot of penguin users?

long live to XP, because was the first love for a lot of people...we know Linux is better though ;)

I made an exact replica of the genuin Windows XP blue theme. See here at gnome-look as 'WinXP blue metacity'; following the comments on your theme I adapted the lunacity theme.

Also added the silver theme here at gnome-look.

Could you make a GTK-theme for the silver edition? It is not the same as for the blue theme. For example the buttons are blue-bordered instead of orange in true Windows XP. The panel is silver....

This Gtk theme is not finished yet, so I really don't know when I'll have time to make another one...
thank you for being involved with this project (is this a project now, isn't it?)... XP 2002 ;)
have a nice weekend,
cris

How about Olive Green one? Appreciate if you can make that too. We already have Silver and Royale version...

Looking forward to your work.

Though I'm a fan of Linux but I still find XP has an incredible theme. Great work!!!

Are you able to make the Green version of this theme? or is there any color theme that I can apply or manual edit?

Thanks so much for the great work!!!
