Opds path outside of owncloud

Question:Hi,

is it possible to define a root directory for the opds catalogue out of scope of owncloud?

It is clear, that the bookshelf itself has to be in the user-files location of owncloud.

I.e.
/data/opdsCatalogue
/web/owncloud

Answer:An old question, but an unanswered one so I'll just quickly state that OPDS catalog only sees what Owncloud sees. The simplest test to see whether OPDS catalog can serve something is to see whether it can be downloaded through the Files app. If it can, OPDS catalog can serve it as well. If it can not, than OPDS catalog won't be able to do so either.

Fortunately it is very simple to make directories outside of the Owncloud root accessible through the Files app (and with that through OPDS catalog) by either creating a symlink to them or mounting them as external local storage. The latter is the cleanest solution, and with that the one I use and recommend.
