Description:

Celebrating the announcement of CnC4! Long Live CnC!

First of all, this theme will probably hurt your eyes ;)

EDIT: Fixed wallpaper link. Enjoy!

[History]

I made this theme for my own use, but I uploaded it for the fun of it. I am new to Linux (my Vista died), and I am even newer to theming (It took me a few days working out how to run the theme manager).

I hope you like it. I will work on it a bit more. In the end I am aiming for a duller environment with glow effects and a more appropriate font.

The original theme is NightLight by Mytharak. Made a lot of changes so far, but NightLight gave a good base

This theme is based on the Command and Conquer Tiberium universe, a really cool game that was started back from '95.

For an official wallpaper pack, visit this site:

http://avaxhome.ws/graphics/wallpapers/gens_tiberium.html

However, I recommend the Green Tiberium Crystal Wallpaper Pack which is linked in the downloads section. More to come!
--------------
Please comment on how I could make it better!

Installation:

Emerald Theme: Just use emerald theme manager to select the theme.

Gnome Theme: You can drag the tar.gz file to the Themes section in System> Preferences> Appearance.

Font:

You needs to locate your fonts folder. usually this is usr/share/themes. Then copy the font to it.

You will probably need to have root access to copy files here. You can do this any way you want, but I used this command in the terminal:

sudo nautilus

Then just apply the changes in the Emerald Theme Manager by going to Edit Themes> Title Bar> then select "Russel Square" regular. Then, go to the theme manager by going to System>Preferences>Appearance>Fonts and choose where you want to see the font as well. My suggestion is to select Russel Square for all of them except Document Font.

The font was made by EALA. Supplied by "Mighty BOB" on cnc-source.com.

There is no need to download this file anymore. It will be supplied in a tar.gz file with the theme itself.

Buttons:

For those who do not know how to use them, open Emerald Theme Manager, Edit Themes> Buttons> and then change the Maximize, Minimize, Close and Restore buttons, navigating to where you extracted the Buttons.

They are intended for my Tiberium Theme, but you can use them in any theme you want. The creator of these buttons is Mytharak, but I have recoloured them.

Changelog:

First Version

Includes basic Tiberium Colours and a few shadow effects as well as a background from cnc-i.net. I did not make the background and I do not claim to do so.
=================
Version 0.2

Removed blue and replaced it with green and black

=================

Version 0.3

Font now available

[[YOU DO NOT NEED TO DOWNLOAD THE FONT ANYMORE- IT IS PROVIDED IN THE TAR.GZ PACKAGE WITH THE REST OF THE FILES. HOWEVER, THE SAME INSTALLATION STEPS STILL APPLY]]

================

I would really appreciate some comments on what I should do for the next version!

================

UPDATE: The files now come in tar.gz format which saves you the time of downloading everything separately. The wallpaper still has to be downloaded separately though.

================

Version 0.4

NEW: Basic Buttons are now packaged into the tar.gz file.

===================
Version 0.5

Added the Gnome Theme. You can choose this from the Appearances Menu. It is meant to be used with the Emerald Theme.

===================

Version 0.6
Changed Font Colours to look more practical (before, all fill-in spaces were grey)

================

Version 0.6.5

Changed icon settings and organized folders.

================

Now declared the final version, 1.0. If I make a new theme, ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you for downloading and commenting!
