New to themes? create a folder, in your home directory ~/.themes
for example mine is /home/justus/.themes
the dot before themes means it is hidden and linked to /usr/share/themes
Can not find it? go to your file menubar, click View, click Show Hidden
Now, download your chosen theme, right click the downloaded file,
chose extract here, grab the extracted file and drop in your .themes folder.
Then open up your favorite appearance manager and select the newly installed
theme.
There are other ways to install themes but this is the best way!
It allows you to control or change parts of the theme without
going to root and possibly doing some harm to your file system.

You may also consider creating a folder called ~/.icons
where you can place downloaded icon themes and mouse cursor themes

And another folder callled ~/.fonts
where you can place downloaded fonts

Want to see more of my themes? Click on, Other Artwork from IamJustUs
across from the download button.

Right click on screenshots and open in new tab, to get a better view.

Changelog:

Changes: January 29, 2014

Screenshots 1: old look vs new.
Screenshots 2: Xfce4 Session
Screenshot 3: Icewm Session

Added checkbox and radiobutton to default list, places these pixmap options in all menus. Ugly default look before.

Added this to the end of default list: (gtkrc file, lines 522-527)
#This is the image used to draw a box, over the entire window and inactive (detailed) window lists.
#Comment (#) the following six lines, to disable the look and boost the gtk2 performance ~0.30 seconds.
image
{
function = FLAT_BOX
recolorable = TRUE
file = "Others/hi-light.png"
border = { 4, 4, 4, 4 }

Gives dimension to window , Firefox bookmarks, sidebar nice look. Adds nice look to all dialog boxes. Changes the look of the inactive window list rows. Slightly darkens
window bg.

Changed menu select button borders. better look.

###########

Changes: January 20, 2014

Darkened opacity of Inactive tab to better match theme.

Redo of notebook, again this time using 30 percent opacity with linear gradient blend, the old look stuck out like a sore thumb.

Upped the intensity of all outer trough edges and recast the center look to a lighter shade.

Darkened the scrollbar sliders and added a highlight , having trouble recognizing slider in sunlight conditions.

Darkened the normal button as well.

Changed the color of base bg, slightly darker than troughs.

Gave more saturation to the active panel button making it more consistant with theme highlights. Washed out in some screens and sunlight.

Redo panel handlebar and handlebar grips, shrunk size added transparent pixel to each side, to reduce size in VLC as qtconfig does not recognize GtkPaned::handle_size.

###############

Changes: January 16, 2014

New IceWm and Xfwm not included, I will post them seperately.

Removed button transparencies, option/checkbox transparencies, toolbar and menubar transparencies. Poor look in most browsers.

Changed scrollbar trough and sliders

Changed Range sliders

Darkened opacity of Active tab and notebook for better contrast between active/inactive tabs.

More unified look and functions, through menu selections, buttons, sliders, prelights

Removed some top glow from Panel bg , changed the panel-menu.png. Put old in Rip1 folder > within panel folder , if you like the older styles.
Vertical panels in folder vertical > within panel folder if you use them.

############

Changes: January 3, 2014

Removed the old gtkrc file and replaced with
my own ever evolving, gtkrc.

Kept the basic concept and colors, buttons.
The rest has been updated.

Added IceWM and Xfwm themes.

I like the look, but I don't get the
plow furrows across the menubar like in
your screen shots?

You will have to either:

a) increase your font size,

b) try a different font that has a
taller profile. I use nimbus sans.

c) open ripstops gtk folder and edit the
menubar.rc file. Change the
ythickness=2 to a higher number like
3, then save your change and
restart the theme.

I found that the more compact fonts,
smooth out the furrows.

Any one of these options should get you
the look you want.

Thanks Padster,

Yeah, the whole theme came from the background.

All hail Gimp; colorize and view at +1600
