Description:

This is a theme based on the "Carbon Gold" theme by MK64 which can be found here: http://customize.org/gtk/themes/61701 so all due credit to the original author.

I have edited or recreated most of the graphics in the theme and changed the colors to my liking. This is however my first attempt at modifying/creating my own theme so please be aware that there will likely be bugs. I am still figuring out how GTK themes work so please forgive any glaring newbie mistakes :)

Installation is simple, just extract to your /home/(username)/.themes folder and select shadowplay from your theme browser.

I made this theme on a Lubuntu system so it is designed to look good with LXDE, I can't say what it will look like in other distros.

Included in the zip is a Lubuntu start orb that I created to compliment the theme, for best visuals please use it ;)
Also included is splaybar.png if you have the need to override the system theme with it.

Enjoy the theme

Lubuntufan

Edit: please set your bar and icon height to 35 for best effect.

Update: Made a few fixes, thanks to IamJustUs for pointing them out for me :)

1. fixed the entry bar so it is no longer inverted
2. Sorted out a color bug
3. Edited the menu to a lighter gray to make it easier on the eyes.

Update:
Added orbs for a number of different distros as seen in screenshot. I have also included a blank orb for use creating orbs for other distros. If anyone has a request for a distro orb just drop me a comment and I will whip one out.

The orbs are designed in the same style as windows vista/7/8 as well as to compliment this theme and its colors.

Update: Version 1.1

1. Added Macbuntu orb.
2. Cleaned up the theme folders a little removing old files.
3. New menu background.
4. New menu bar.
5. New progress bar
6. Added Slackware orb

Update: Version 1.2 (01/01/2014)

1. Cleaned up the prelight menu-item and menubar-item effects
2. New menu bar more inline with the rest of the theme.
3. Improved progress bar.
4. Converted some PNG files to SVG for better scaling.

Happy new year all!

Please guys, if you are going to vote down at least take the time to let me know why. I put a lot of work into this and can't fix anything if I don't know whats wrong with it. And please don't downvote if you are using a different distro to lubuntu, I clearly stated in the title that the theme is for lubuntu.

 Welcome to themer's paradise

Don't worry this theme will work for the majority of window managers'. and some desktop's like E-17 and Xfce4.
The only reason, it wouldn't if the user or OS developer
brought in gnome3 or gtk3 dependencies. I use only gtk2 apps
or qt apps (vlc).

Very good, I tried it out with IceWM session and
Xfce4.10 looks good. Archlinux OS here.

only two problems that I see.

1) The entry style.
In my opinion, this is one of the hardest
items to theme right.
Unless, you intentionally wanted an outie style, I vertically flipped
your, entry-inactive.png.
Also, if you want a background color for your entries.
add this to your gtkrc at line 1633.
base[NORMAL] = "#656A70"
or whatever color you prefer.

2) Unlike LXDE. Xfce panel does not handle panel bg with end caps
very well. It segments the panel. So your panel-bg2.png works
better for Xfce4.

ps. love your scrollbar steppers.

Thanks for the feedback :)
I will sort out the entry box and the line you mentioned and post the update. I think I will darken the entry box a little too so the entry text pops a little more.

Just what I was looking for

Nice you just put this up. It's exactly what I was looking for. Ran perfectly, the install couldn't have been any easier and looks fantastic! I've been messing around and trying to do something very similar, but this looks even better. Saved me a lot of work.

Only thing I notice a bit off on my monitor/display is that the task bar space listing the active window is so bright I cannot read. Not that it matters much. Plus it might because I haven't rebooted or difference in screen display monitor setting with brightness or possibly other settings. Thanks again for pimpin my theme dude. I'm stoked.

Glad you like it ^^

You mean the glow effect under the active window button is overpowering the text? The text on the taskbar should be light gray/white, are you sure you haven't overridden it in panel settings to a darker color?

I think I get what you are refering to but please correct me if I am wrong and I will get a fix out asap if it is indeed theme related :)

My account has been hacked so I will not be able to upload updates or fixes for this or my other themes until it is restored :(

Please continue to report bugs in the mean time and I will adress them and either upload them when my account is back or reupload under this account.

Thank you.
