isn't that a background from an iGoogle theme? i don't think Google would appreciate it being re-released under the GPL without their permission...

that was close! just didn't want you to get in trouble with the second-biggest software company in the world! it's a very nice effect btw, it reminds me of the wallpaper in my dining room :P
An inverted version would be cool too.

yo how do i use the transparent image what is the location in the compiz manager.

id like to make a few of my own thats why i ask.

simply click the little folder icon that is next to it

and navigate to the pic you downloaded

if you are going to make your own make sure it has a 100% transparent background or the shadows will look strange

also, make sure the image is as big or bigger than your screen

have fun!!!
