Description:

Facebox theme, it looks simple and is fast since don't use any candy style or glass or something; panel buttons will be changed next update. Just enjoy :)
I provide also a mod of Simplebox Metacity to fit better with this gtk2 theme.
And I suggest some fonts to use for better appearance (see preview 2).

Requires Pixbuf Engine to be installed first (gtk2-engines-pixbuf).

Known bugs:
==========
* OpenOffice use text_color instead fg_color to draw tooltips text.
* MenubarItem label (NORMAL state) not properly loaded by some applications (Firefox, KompoZer... if you find other please report here).

Changelog:

0.1
===
* some changes for main buttons

0.2
===
* notebook tabs bigger now
* menu layout changed
* more contrasted arrows on scrollbar buttons
* sliders background different
* black tooltip bg and white text

 Very simple

Even though it's a bit flat looking (almost like it's not using an engine at all), the simplicity of the theme still appeals to me, although I think the blue could stand to be a slightly lighter shade. Looks like it would be really fast, which is great for netbooks. I use UNR, so is there any chance you could make a Netbook Remix version of this theme?

Glad you appreciate my work, John :)
I understand that Ubuntu Netbook Remix is a lite Ubuntu version for notebooks... I could try some other colors maybe, green or orange, I don't know... please tell what you think about :)

regards,
krig

hey, I was take a look, and find that you should be able to install it; by default UNR use a Murrine engine based theme.
So just unpack my theme into
/home/yourusername/.themes
should be ok

Goodluck!

Of course I unpacked the theme to my home directory (~/.themes, just like I would normally do with any theme that I download from here) and it works fine, but it does not behave like a proper netbook theme. Here is a picture showing what I'm talking about:

Notice the difference between the way the netbook theme integrates it's title bar and menu bar to blend together? But your theme draws it's own distinctly colored tab, rather that integrating with the title bar and menu bar, and that's the way all normal gtk themes look on UNR unless they have been modified to work specifically with Netbook Remix. Here is a link to an article that describes how to make a netbook theme that may help you out in making a nebook remix version of Facebox:

Thanks again for your great work!

Yeah, I get it now; you could use a color background for gnome-panel, then using the slider for alpha blending, a color like black is okay :)
About the theme, I'll try to use a UNR livecd so I'll be able to made one; I'll try to mod the default existing one using Murrina engine ;)

Just stay tuned. Cheers.

Even though it's simple, simplicity is a style, and a nice one.

I think it's quite obvious that you used the "facebook" blue for this (oh noes, your secret is out :P ). I think it's a nice blue. Good job.

Really thanks ;D
Yeah, the simplicity is art; in fact I try to make a GTK2 theme to be used for everyone who wants to begin theming using pixmaps... is not easy :)

Have a nice day ;)
