Description:

Please leave comments, suggestions, or problems you may have before rating as I'm trying what I can to either implement ideas or fix problems.

This is my Equinox Leopard theme, based on the Equinox Engine 1.20 (which is required to use this theme), Mac OSX look, and the Aurura Leopard theme.
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Aurora+Leopard?content=128421
The file comes with EIGHT folders that must be extracted into your ~/.themes folder. Do not install them in your Appearance window.

The first folder is marked "Equinox Leopard 2" (the first version I developed was for the previous Equinox Engine). This was designed for those that use the standard version of Nautilus and all other applications without any modifications.

The second folder is marked "Equinox Elementary Leopard." This version was designed with the idea that those who use Elementary Nautilus without the menu bar and/or who also use gnome-globalmenu that the toolbar and title bar blend perfectly. Otherwise, the menu bar blends with the title bar and the toolbar looks raised, which is still a nice look (though this applies to those apps in which gnome-globalmenu cannot remove the menu bar).

The third one is a Metal version that is being worked on. This may or may not work for people, so let me know what you all think. It can work for both Standard and Elementary users.

The fourth and fifth folders are the dark themes for both Standard and Elementary users of my theme. A recolored Metacity accompanies these themes to blend perfectly.

The remaining three folders are graphite versions of the first three folders for those who wish to use them.

The non-metal themes and their graphite versions do not have a panel active for two reasons:
1. A panel background is also added to the file that is a see-through png file, both light and dark. Extract them where ever you wish, right-click on the panel, go to Properties, click on the Background tab, pick the third option, navigate to where the panel background is, and apply.
2. I want the user to use whatever background they wish. However, the original, non-transparent panel_bg.png files are still present. To use them, use gedit, go to either themes' gtkrc file in the gtk-2.0 folder, search for that file in the text, and remove "#" to uncomment it. Save and refresh the theme,

The theme still uses the default button arrangement on the right as there are those who prefer them there. To change to the left, press Alt+F2, type in gconf-editor, go to apps->metacity->general->button layout, and type "close, minimize, maximize:menu" to change them.

Metacity was also modified to be more similar to the colors of the buttons found on the Mac, as well as added a menu button. The graphite versions are grayed instead.

For those that want to know, the icons used is a mix of LaGaDesk-remix-II, MacUltimate Leopard, and Ubuntu-Mono-Light. I don't plan on releasing this blend until I'm more satisfied with the mixture.

An important note: OpenOffice and other psuedo-gtk apps may have issues concerning curved buttons. I'm working on figuring out how to remedy this problem.

Version 2.1:
Added Metal-themed Metacity to Metal themes.

Nice theme, but it would be nice to have a brushed version and w/o the glassy bars...

This is one of the nicest Mac style themes I've seen in a while. One thing that would really put it over the top is, instead of buttons being blue all the time, make it so that they turn blue when you hover you mouse over them. No one really does this anymore. I'm not sure why, as I think that it makes a theme more usable. Keep up the good work.

Ask and you may receive. Button colors have been changed and as an added bonus, they are now curved and graphite versions are also available. Enjoy!

 Nice Thene

Thats what we call fast developer. Dude, great theme, especially the brushed metal one. Keep working and mantaining it, i just removed all the previous brushed versions of other themes i've had installed. By the way, do you think of creating a elemetary/global-menu version as well?

Done and uploaded, though now it's too big to upload to this site. It's now on my DeviantArt page as a ZIP. Aside from that, everything should work. The toolbar should now blend in with the metacity. I also use Elementary with GlobalMenu, so it was easy to test the results. I use Firefox for non-Elementary based themes.

Hello tbbozer,

I hope you don`t mind if i try to help you out finding some errors on the theme. Since i know nothing about gtk and i found someone interested... I will keep suggesting you some things.
Firstly, i would like to show you the desktop i used mixing GT-Brushed (metacity) with T-ish pack (for the gtk). Look at this link http://dl.dropbox.com/u/508558/Captura_de_tela.png this was a quite nice combination, but there were some mistakes and it was terribly slow. Equinox is, obviously, a lot faster.
Well, let's look into yours: nautilus seems fine, but no metal brushed (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/508558/nautilus.png), the gnome-panel exibits some problems too. Openoffice also shows some small errors, and almost no metal brushed (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/508558/ooo.png). For last, the rhythmbox window (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/508558/rhythmbox.png) shows brushed metal texture on most of the page.
I just want to help a bit here, and dont get me wrong. But it feels really nice in the first image i posted, with the hole window and gnome-panel with a texture. This kind of theme gives less distraction from the work, it is clear but not too bright, so dont make you tired of looking at the monitor.
Your theme just have great buttons and bars on graphite, but it would be nice to have brushed metal all over the window.

Regards,

Hmm. I'm still trying to get used to adding what are called "pixmaps," which in essence are pictures you add in place of certain things such as buttons and the like. Unfortunately, when a theme is curved and has emptiness within its "space," the image does not go over that. This is why I squared off the progress bar because I first noticed that problem. I believe the buttons and entry boxes may also end up being done the same way with so that gap is not noticeable, or until I can find a way for the image to fill it.

As for the tool bar, I may have over-blended what I was trying to do. I will give it another try and not go as far as I did. Also, the thing with the menu bar had the metal removed to blend too, but I'll see about adding that to still blend. I don't know what can be done concerning the Applet Notification area on the panel, but I'll research it and see what can be done to fix it too. This may take some time though, since I'm going to be busy the next few days.

Still don't know what the problem is with OpenOffice, but I fixed the rest of the theme. You can use any other brushed Metacity theme with this if you want until I develop an appropriate one for the Metal versions.

Thanks. I'm beginning to think, though, that the problem I'm having with OpenOffice with curved buttons is in fact an issue with the Equinox engine itself. I have tried a lot to fix this to no avail. I still have to make a Metacity for the Metal themes, but that should be done in the next week or so.
