Description:

Dust Netbook is a modification of the Dust theme that makes it work better with Ubuntu Netbook Remix.

The screenshots show and I suggest the Drakfire Evolution icon theme available elsewhere on gnome-look.

Any comments or feedback are appreciated.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH KARMIC KOALA'S UBUNTU NETBOOK REMIX

Great job!
I also have a similar request. I'm a huge fan of the Dust themes and was wondering if you'd be able to make the same optimizations to a variation called "Dust Burnt", which is my absolute fave.

Because a lot of people have requested this, I thought I'd share a short blog post about how I modified this theme for Netbook remix. You can view it at http://loose-bits.blogspot.com/2009/06/writing-themes-for-ubuntu-netbook-remix.html, and I'd be happy to answer any questions (post them in the blog comments) anyone has.

I look forward to modifying more themes in the future, but don't plan on doing it right now. I modified this was one primarily for my own use, and just posted it here mainly because there are so few netbook-remix compatible themes out there.

"...... because there are so few netbook-remix compatible themes out there."

Isn't that the truth. I look forward to seeing more as UNR becomes more popular. As it is I'm having to do a good bit of my own modifications as well. Thanks again for your great work!

 Font color of window picker

Hi, I use your theme now in a Ubuntu 9.10 RC. Somehow the themes for netbook remix seem to have changed a bit. The font color of the window picker applet now has nearly the same color as the background with your theme, so the window titles are unreadable. Do you have any information how to change the font color now? I also opened a bug on launchpad, but they say that everything works fine... (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/window-picker-applet/+bug/427245 )

This theme was designed for Ubuntu 9.04, and is not compatible with 9.10. They have completely changed many things with netbook laucher in Karmic.

I have no plans on updating this for now. I did this for my own use, and I'm quite happy with the default theme in Karmic.

 makes firefox unreadable

I'm not sure if I just need to change my firefox theme or something else (I'm using default Ubuntu theme -- Tango), but when I applied dusk-netbook, all of the text in the autocomplete list for the location bar is black text on a dark grey background. (I mean this list: http://is.gd/9IS64)

As previously stated, several times: This is an obsolete theme. It was only designed to work on 9.04, and does not work with newer versions of ubuntu.

If you are running Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04, post a link to a screenshot and I will take a look at your problem.

If you are not, please learn to read the description before downloading and commenting.
