I guarantee operation at 100% on Ubuntu 11.10
follow the instructions from the shell:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa gnome3-team/gnome3
sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool & & sudo apt-get install gnome-user-shell-extensions-theme

copy the folder pointer to /usr/share/icons with "sudo mv"
creates a symbolic link
sudo ln-fs /usr/share/icons/Cyclone/cursor.theme etc/alternatives/x-cursor-theme
Open gnome-tweak-tool and select the pointer "Cyclone"
restart compurer, and the pointer will always work, even without opening Firefox.
Good Day!

Open a terminal and enter
gedit etc/alternatives/x-cursor-theme
the content must be
[Icon Theme]
Inherits=Cyclone

If there is not write "Cyclone" recreate the symbolic link with
sudo ln-fs /usr/share/icons/Cyclone/cursor.theme etc/alternatives/x-cursor-theme
then select the pointer with gnome-tweak-tool
restart, and you'll see that it works
bye

I repeat correctly:

Open a terminal and enter
gedit /etc/alternatives/x-cursor-theme
the content must be
[Icon Theme]
Inherits=Cyclone

If there is not write "Cyclone" recreate the symbolic link with
sudo ln-fs /usr/share/icons/Cyclone/cursor.theme /etc/alternatives/x-cursor-theme
then select the pointer with gnome-tweak-tool
restart, and you'll see that it works

 Glam

As much as I love this one I suppose it looks better on bright themes and might do better with inverse colors, i.e white instead of black or something grayish for darker themes. But perhaps if it were just a smudge bigger I could enjoy it.

So I was wondering, what would it take for me to install and modify this one to make it about 1 1/2 the size it is now? Or even 1 1/4?

You can customize the pointer with Gimp, but first you need to install plugins XMC (X11 Mouse Cursor) from here http://gimpstuff.org/content/show.php/X11+Mouse+Cursor+ 28XMC%% 29 + plug-in? Content = 94503
after you edit an animation, save it with XMC extension, but remember that to work you must remove the extension from animation!
Good luck! ;-)

 Mistake in the theme

by JohnyDNU on: Dec 16 2011

Score 50%

There is a mistake in this theme. When loading page in Google Chrome the cursor begin looks like a broken film. It's look like some amount of cursors move from right to left, and we see that throu the square frame...
Can you repair it? Or tell me please, how can i do it myself.
P.S. Plugin for GIMP have been downloaded :)

 Super!!!

by Korag on: Jan 5 2012

Score 50%

First you need to put right the cursor using Ubuntu Tweek
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/444/20120105191812.png
Then you need to open a terminal and run as administrator Nautilus and Gedit. Then copy the folder with the cursor through Nautilus to the /usr/share/icons. After copying the same folder go in the folder default and open the file index.theme it. After the = sign will write the exact name of the folder with the right mouse.

Save the changes, close the program and restart your computer.

 Setting theme.

by JDubZero on: Sep 26 2012

Score 50%

Ubuntu 12.04 - First, you need to use ubuntu tweak or gnome tweak to set the mouse theme. Then, you need to modify the the default mouse theme for the system. Use the terminal to navigate, or use the terminal to open nautilus (sudo nautilus). Use Gedit to modify the file: usr/shar/icons/default/index.theme by changing it to Inherit=name of theme folder. Log out then back in to the system.
