Description:

Love the look of Clearlooks-type themes but find them too bulky? Cowlooks is here to the rescue with a skim milk diet.

Modifications were made to the Inverted GTK theme and Splint Metacity themes to save space while maintaining usability. Credit goes out to the authors of those themes.

Here are a few of the changes I made:

Padding around buttons have been decreased, making for smaller toolbars.

Window borders are down to 1 pixel; many gnome programs already have a lower right resize grip, so I felt that thick borders weren't necessary.

Contrast has been decreased to take some focus away from the clutter of the GUI so that you can focus on your work instead.

The recommended icon themes are Tango and Gnome-Colors.

The gnome2-globalmenu applet is recommended for users who wish to save even more vertical space.

Changelog:

Nov. 8, 2009
More compact, updated metacity design.

Nov. 13, 2009
Smaller tabs, updated metacity design.
note: murrine engine required

Dec. 10, 2009
Realized that I uploaded a test version on Nov. 13, this is the correct version!

Thanks!

Actually I am not using an Emerald theme; Compiz lets me use my metacity theme if /usr/bin/compiz-decorator is used as the command in the "Window Decoration" settings.

I can upload my compiz theme if you wish.
