Description:

ClearLUX is, as the name suggests, a clearlooks theme based on the colour scheme of LUX. The main difference is, of course, that it uses the clearlooks engine and no pixmaps whatsoever.

GTK+ based on and inspired by: LUX 0.9x by SzerencseFia, DarkRoom 0.28.6 by Kenneth Wimer & Conn O'Griofa, and Shiki-Colors 2.1 by perfectska04.

Changelog:

1.3
- ClearLUX has been completely re-writen.
- From the end-user perspective, most of the changes are fairly subtle.
- But this version hopefully has fewer bugs and inconsistencies.
- The cleaner code also means it will be easier to find and fix bugs.

1.2
- Switched the metacity to a slightly modified version of Unity
- Created darker gradient toolbar and darker flat menubar, like the original LUX
- Menus have been reworked
- Made default roundness 1.0 like original LUX
- Decreased roundness of progressbar even further to counter optical illusion, changed contrast
- Added scrollbar trough, as dark as that of the progressbar and slider trough, menu bg, and inactive notebook tabs
- Changed default contrast
- Determined license status
- Added index.theme

1.0b
- Fixed insensitive entrybox
- Fixed progress bar prelit text
- List selection is now in classic style, which makes it smoother and darker
- Increased the minimum scrollbar length from 30 to 90 as in the original LUX
- Changed the metacity background from dark to light. To me, it seems more consistent this way.

1.0
- Initial public release.

EXCELLENT theme. I'm always looking for unified but easily readable dark themes and I believe we've got one of the best here.

Credits for the look really ought to go to SzerencseFia's LUX, from which this theme's colour scheme is derived. He or she has done a stellar job of balancing dark colours with the limitations of GTK.

Great theme! Thanks a lot ;) That's really good job.

But there is one problem for me: in firefox if I enter for example on http://apple.com with this theme I'll see grey background instead of white. :) That's not the critic! :) I am asking some advance :)

;)

Where is it that the background is grey? If you mean the background of the website, then that is not altered by this theme. Check your firefox settings.

If you mean the menu that appears when you type an address, that's intentional.

If it's something else, please be specific.

hi, i slightly modified this nice theme to eliminate "white" bg stuff with black text.

http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=029141bdb9b701894012e8015643d9c8a829dad8010af067

now text should be always "white" and bg - dark.

welcome to add it as an option for all :)

I'll think about adding an all-dark version on the next update. It is unlikely, however, as it breaks LUX's advantage when it comes to Firefox, etc.

Indeed, this on of the few dark themes that is read-friendly with the eyes.

Thanks very much for a very good work.
