I would like to move this group to my irc network to be honest because this website keeps coming up with ways to piss folks off, losing content, their editors are trolls, they push groups onto branch sites that have no business being on every branch of opendesktop....if it werent for all of you folks in this group, I probably wouldnt ever use this site again.
I suggest starting a channel on irc.meganet.us ....ELTimo and greyhat have shown up and seemed to have liked it....a few others have shown up and occasionally chat it up there. Id like to see this group on my irc network. Its small, friendly, and stable. No spam bots or dumbass script kiddies. Just perfect for having wonderful realtime chat. So, you are all once again cordially invited to irc.meganet.us RIght now the main channel is #Lobby but I would like to see a channel made for this group with all of its members....that way we can talk shit and bash ubuntu and newbs in realtime! THAT SOUNDS LIKE FUN DOESNT IT?

 Hmm...

I'll start of by saying that I'm an Ubuntu user. Don't throw anything yet. I've used ubuntu for a while now, but I'm still very much a linux-noob.
The crap with Ubuntu's logo all over is just terrible. There is no bloody end to it. I hate how the stuff that gets on here represents what I use (I'm not a 10 year old pervert). Some of the idiots even use the logo incorrectly.
Anyways, what I want to discuss is that you're onto something serious here. You'd find a lot more people who'd agree with you on this if you asked your members to clean up a bit. I didn't join for a while because I thought this was just a hate group. After reading through the entire thing though, I can see that you've got a point.
As I've said, I'm a noob, so I wouldn't know about advancing this. Has anyone contacted the gnome-look people about this? They would have to listen, enough people want a change and would help enforce it.
In basic, if you get some sort of user-filter going on, I'll help. That Vista-Ubuntu-bile wallpaper is terrifying.

This group NO UBUNTU WALLPAPERS has been in the HOTTEST GROUPS for atleast 3 months now, both editors i know of frank and that troll codeg33k have definately noticed it. They wont do anything about it, so we can just all sit here in my group and complain about it.

Also, yes, this group has strayed from its original purpose several times, I dont mind it. I like to see people speak their minds on anything and all subjects in my group. I dont think they or I should be censored.

Theyve turned these groups in *buntu is better than *buntu and "linux is an os" or no "Linux is just a kernel!" WTF someone should put in some form of screening process for opendesktop.org potential members.....bunch of boobs.

Yes, they need to be branded with a hot iron that says STOOPID on their foreheads.
