1.) I second that. Every one knows gconf-editor and devil's pie but "new users" don't. Indeed they complain abut many things that aren't right so there should be a help for them.

2.)Devil's pie should be included too for those who think metacity can't provide the same posibilities that kwin has.

okay i see... what about the avant windows navigator thats a good thing to use and also esay to use for newbees so wouldnt it be nice if it was into the next version of gnome as a standard application?

I think you should study logics a bit at least. You just jumped into a Slippery Slope, non sequitur and Straw man fallacies in a very little paragraph.

It is madness.

I just comment for the people who is able to understand what the possibilities of Gnome are.

By the way if you don't know the system, Devil's pie is in the gnome-devel web page. If you don't know something it's better for you don't try to make opinions about it.

Hi colleagues,

I have an Idea regarding the window decoration, why we are cloning what we have already in the commercial systems, why it the title bar and controls do not fit at the bottom of the window?

My concept is based on having the window is a sub-screen, so, have you ever seen a screen with a power on/off switch at the top of it?

Gnome panel needs a little bit tweaking, to work better than AWN, and it is a genuine piece of Gnome:

1- when the panel is not expanded there must be an option to hide the right and left handles.
2- Adding the ability to make it round corders.
3- Adding a feature of 3D look.

even no need for icons effect to get a reasonable and built in package for Gnome without a lot of polished look.

I have noticed that the use of Right-Alt is about to be zero in the daily use of the keyboard, so, why not to make it a default to change the language by hitting the Right-Alt key, and it will work nice for the guys who are coming originally from a windows environment, they will try to press Right-Alt + Shift, so they get the required effect.

Based on the concept of having the application is the tool, and the important part for the user is the document itself, not the application:


What would happen if we remove all the window decorations and make the work look like a white paper, and instead of menu bar, we make it a floating panel beside the window?

this floating panel will be semitransparent until we touch it by the mouse cursor it becomes in full color?

instead of scrolling up and down, just holding bot left and right mouse buttons and move it left or right to indicate our wish to flip the page, or scroll a continuous paper roll up and down by moving the mouse up and down.

resizing to be by touching the bottom right corner of the paper itself, where an effect of grey triangle appears there, but it cannot be uses till we press bot right and left mouse buttons?

closing the application by resizing the paper size into zero, and maximize/restore by double clicking the resize grey triangle by bot left and right mouse buttons.
