Goodmoorning Vieetnam

Well there is a kernel commandline in "/etc/default/grub" that do wonders to an old time Slackware user that got pissed off by Slack's "new" KDE 4 and now try to rip off the nasty things in Obonto 10.04 (read Linux Mint 9) - (i have used Slackware from v 9 to 12) ...

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="text"

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="vga=normal"

Now i can use the Linux Mint 9 OS as an Linux OS should be used ... start up in "command line mode" whith no idiotic graphical login .. startx will do. Peek around in the system whith Midnight Commander (which is not included in Obontoo's as default and thats a shame) ... well i like the little "Mint pastille" now hehe ... many things are much easier to do when you dont have the graphical stuff loaded ...

Well have a nice day

Dunno why Ubuntu respins works better than Ubuntu itself.

JULinux and Mint is far more better than Ubuntu. Because the developer listen to their user. Not like Ubuntu, which never ever fix any bug in every release. Bleeding Edge distro, SICKENING!!!!!

Noticed everyone's comments being voted down except for one.

"Canonical are not making money" from a previous post:
I dunno... just look at the Canonical shop. Of course for Canonical its all about business; more ubu users, more support sales, more training sales, etc. Its a pretty standard business plan (part of the reason Fedora forked from Redhat?).

"Distro hating is just a waste of thought and energy." also from before.

Absolutely.

Except for when it comes to oobuntu.

The problem is ubuntu users. Look on gnome-look, they spam us with ubuntu wallpapers, ubuntu icons, ubuntu shits every where. The same wallpaper 50 times for each fucking resolution.

Those guys are giant assholes, windows lovers. That's why canonical fuck them ; they are SO stupid !

Of course, not all of them. Only those who dual boot and/or use windows lookalike themes (about 99.99%)

Every Frog Need's Water

Hmm .. well i dont agree to that.. that ppl like to decorate and make eyecandy to their operating system just shows love and dedication, not all ppl can be superduper programming gurus .. we need artist's too.

Ubuntu isn't bad at all, its just the Upstart system that is a mess ;-) I have seen nitwits posting solutions to manage the Upstart mess in Lucid that are genuine horrible and just trash your system. Those ppl make the impression that they know what they talk about but in real they are just wrong ... things like that put down Ooboonto to look bad ...

In my dialect ubuntu means you own nothing, or you can't do anything. Kubuntu means I have nothing or I can't do anything. Lubuntu has the same meaning with Ubuntu, while Xubuntu doubles everything up.

Let the ubuntu fanboys trolls and vote me down. I don't give a damn! Keep sucking on mother nipples, fool!!

Hmmmm, I get eyecancer reading your comments.....
The only thing you can do is squeezing shit out of your mouth.... and this obviously deliberately.....
Maybe you even don´t know what it means to hate something....
What is different from fedora to ubuntu? Or from opensuse to mandriva? the kernel? the desktop environment? the packages? The packagemanagement? Maybe. The actuality? Possibly. The way the coder implement their ideology in the distro.... It´s my opinion. And I have used all big distros.
My fedora look like ubuntu. My Ubuntu looks like fedora. My mandriva looks like opensuse, like kubuntu, like pclinuxos...... A Gnome using distro looks equal or similar to an other. The same with KDE.
So what the hell you HATE at ubuntu?
Do you have to spent money for that? Are you forced to use it? Are you a gnome hater? A KDE hater? A commandline hater?

Sorry for my english, i´m not an native speaker..... :)

Wait a minute, My Ubuntu looks like OpenSUSE, my OpenSUSE looks like Mandriva, my Mandriva looks like Se7en my Se7en looks like Ubuntu.... I'm confuse here???!!! LOL

Well from my opinion all off them looks "totally different" ROFL

Ubuntu is still Debian, the developer never grow up. Leaving the bug here and there. Mandriva is .rpm base system. Se7en was based on NT, OpenSUSE, Slackware, Arch, Vector and blah blah blah blah.

Hmmm, I think you should READ the comments... My Ubuntu looks like Fedora... not Opensuse.... whatever...

No, I´m not forced to join this group, but I hoped to read some constructive criticism. But I was frustrated.
The most I can read here is pubertal jabbering.
Here in germany we like to find out other people opinions to understand their problems. Maybe to help solving this problem.

And I think thats the sense of this panel.

You should be happy. A group, consisting of one guy, would be very embarrassing.... ;)

Canonical try to reinvent the wheel but forget to put tires on it so the ride gets bumby

Ubuntu is not a problem itself despite its buggy and have a Nazi style configuration ;-) The major problem as i see it its the users ... - when i try to google for some problem that i have with the (U)Os i almost ends up in some Ubuntu forum or similar where ppl gladly post solutions to problems that are just horrible or for the worst, damage your whole setup ..

noob's should NOT try to tinker with the boot and upstart stuff in Ubuntu, just leave it alone ... its a mess already :-P I really hope the canonical ppl have a serius overlook to this idiotic mess and invent a WORKING solution to start and stop services whithout FUCKING UP THE SYSTEM! I can gladly wait 2 minutes extra when the system boot's knowing that i can control it in some easy way ...

And you, Sir. Tell me to shut my mouth because what I'm saying is a fact? I've been in Ubuntu community, asking them for helping me running Ubuntu on my desktop or laptop. Did they answer? No!!!! I found it myself. You know the fuckin' thing they've said, "Read The Fuckin' Manual. You shit head."

When I post the solution about their freakin' problems, they delete it. WTF running in their freakin' head?!!!! So Nooboo fanboys, GTF of my way!!!!

Hehehe funny you said: Woot

Many Ooboontoer's are in fact Window's users - they are kid's on Win gaming rig's that have seen Compiz in action on Youtube and then got the idea: "Whooho now i am gonna show my superduper knowledge to the farmers here in Smallville"

They set up dualboot and runs the Compiz show from now and then to get the impression that them are: "The Wizz of OS after that they boot back to Windows and do their main computing (gaming) there ... thats why the Ooboonto community suxx ... they are just Window's users trying to tinker with a Linux they dont really understand and care about in the long run.

In this fact I must give you right. :)
But I have no experience in using the english ubuntu forum. and well, there a many young guys, using unbuntu as their hobby. also here in germany.
also the desktop look a like contests on this forum sites are very strange.
"what is this font? Uuuuu, and this gadget? Woow, where do you get this wallpaper from? And this windowdecoration? How I get this Taskbar in mac os style?" and "Uuu, I don´t like this program because its different than the prog in windows, I like to have it like in windows..." They are all searching for pendants to windows.... But why??
And if you have a problem with a program or a driver, you were lost..... The best thing in this fact is using google or bing. There you can avoid the ubuntu search results... ;)
