at other ppl's desktops and configurations, they give me
Ideas I can't possibly have with my current IQ.

So please! if you have a very nice desktop, don't be shy,
put it up here!

please use bbcode when u post, makes it easier for
other users to view ur screenshot, just put "[url]" in
front of the link and "[/url]" after... then it will look
like this http://www.link.to.ur.amazing.screenshot.html
Thank u for ur consideration!

 Daisy on KDE

I arranged my icons so they are more visually appealing, yet still keep the size, position, usage ratio. I also added Daisy as a launcher to the lower right hand corner of my screen. I shrank the bottom panel down and just use Daisy as a launcher (no task management) for this to work. I removed the old launcher from the top and have more room for my Activities menu on the top also. The other change I made was to use Tux G2 as the icon for Lancelot.

The box said Windows Vista or better so I installed Sabayon 5...

Hehe, thx :) My jackson is a pretty old
"kelly" from the days when they still
made them in Japan.... none of that
china shit ;-)

Is a very good metal guitar indeed! It gives
a very heavy sound and lot's of my friends
like it too :)

I really like your terminal color schemes,
that is one thing I'm too lazy to do myself
for some reason :S, would be nice if you
posted them somewhere??

Honestly, I don't even know how portable
these are... I mean, will your terminal
color scheme work with konsole(s)?

Thanks for the kind words, Rob.

With regards to Konsole, I don't see a problem. I don't think it will read my .Xdefaults liek URxvt or Xterm can, but I'm you you can just right-click on it and go to Properties/Preferences (or something) and there should be the option to configure colors.

There are a few schemes here
http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/topic/9935/post-your-xdefaults-and-terminal-apps-colorschemes-with-screenshot/

I'll post the recent one on it later. You just use the values from color0 - color15.

Alternatively, if you want me to help with a specific colorscheme for your terminal, give me your preferred background color, or the wallpaper if you prefer a transparent/semi-translucent terminal. I'll see what I can conjure up.

Cheers. :)

Those shots are awesome. I have been looking for an app that blends the audio spectrum visualization (the bars that is) into the background; what plugin and which audio player do you use, or is it a standalone app?

Only in it for the eye-candy. What's *your* excuse?

Thanks a lot! I use this screenlet: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Impulse+-+PulseAudio+visualizer?content=99383
It's high configurable and you can use it in the background. It works with all players I've ever tested. :)

This is my first scrot this year, I felt
like doing what the gnome people are
doing over at deviantart, a very faggish
screenshot: http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/5084/megafaggish.png

is it faggish enough for deviantart?
-No. But my next one might be ;-)

Be cool.

Whatever faggish is? I think this shot is good enough to be placed under the first 3 in our deskmodder screen contest on deviantart. For the next contest I'll send you an invitation to our group, so you can test it. :P

Happy New Year to all!

faggish = mac/windows cloning crap :)

there is a lot of mac cloning going on
on deviantart from gnome users under
the codename of "elementary", that's what
I meant :)

Thx, I think I'm however in the linux users
group where the desktop competition was.

However, I don't usually want all kinds
of widgets on the desktop so I think I
will never be a part of anykinda competition :)

Your scrots btw are not at all faggish,
they are very nice and original.

Ahhh.. okay!

Our deskmodder group is formely a german group with a german community in the background. In the middle of last year we changed this group to a worldwide activ group. There is not only Linux related stuff but more stuff of Windows. (Screenshots of Windows and Mac are also inspirations for me.) ;)

Every mounth we start a desktop screen contest for screenshots of all operation systems. And it is really hard to win this contest. There are sometimes 40-50 really great shots which have the chance to win.

But I can understand if you don't want to be member in more groups. Hope, after resetting our Linuxusers group (with a new name, cause the old name is too near to an other group called Linux-users) in the next time, I can invite you to this one!?

Thank you for your compliments on my shots! :)

Oh, my bad, I thought you meant the linuxusers
group, I sure would like to join any
group which has to do with desktop-design :)

Yes, you should take inspiration from any
screenshot you see, doesn't matter what
it is. It only gets faggish when one creates
a clone of smth and then calls it an own
style. That's mega faggish, and stupid.

I have to confess tho, that nowadays when
browsing scrots on deviantart I just take
a quick glans at the latest linux/*nix
ones, because usually what one sees here
is elementary this, elemantary that,
elemantary, new elementary, eleme.... zzz.
And all of this kinda have the same
faggish mac look, so I just figured
I leave this section alone mostly.

Yeah your shots are great, they have that
old-school dark unix look to them before
the faggish mac-cloners took over that
section.
