Description:

This is a group for the development of GTK Theme Maker.

Help is needed for UI design, coding, and testing.

I'm not so sure about importing gtk files, though. Even though GTK 3 uses CSS, there is still the problem of getting the individual values so a GUI editor can be made. Right now the program only has a text editor pane so you can see the results as you edit.

I am using Python and releasing the program under the GPL.

I've uploaded 0.9.0.1. You can download it from the link in the description.

Let me know if any of you find any problems. I fixed most of the problem with the widgets not being affected by the theme, but some (such as the combo-box) still are not affected. I'm working a solution, but at least the program is usable now =)

The Raleigh the is basically a blank theme, so that when you preview your theme it will not use any of the default settings from the GTK theme. Although you can run the program, you will not get a good representation of what the theme will look like in real use.

I'm going to work on a solution for this, but so far I have no clue how to fix it.

So it won't use the default settings? Don't you want it to use your theme's default settings? Raleigh uses the windows 98 look for me.

Basically, using Raleigh(the blank theme) ensures that no theme settings are affecting the program because Gnome is just using the default settings, simulating a real install of the theme you are working on. If you use a theme other than Raleigh, the preview will not be accurate.

If you want to see what happens, try to make a theme with the default theme for the desktop. Then actually set your theme as the GTK theme. You will probably notice some differences, depending on how hard you look. Because I haven't got this fixed yet you will want to double check how your theme looks when installed before you publish it.

It's kind of a technical problem, but one you have to know about in order to use the program.

I'm not sure what you mean by settings that would affect it. If you're making a theme, you want the settings to be affected, don't you? Or do you mean some other settings?

To explain it better, I guess I would say that to prevent the application's "local" theme preview from inheriting theme settings from the "global" desktop theme, you must use a blank desktop theme.

It may help if you try this: use any theme you want for the desktop. Now, delete everything in the text box. You will notice that although you have a blank theme file, the preview still shows the desktop theme.

I guess the problem is kind of technical, but it's important to know when you are using the program.

Actually, since I am the only one working on the code, and I know next to nothing about programming I haven't got much done :( But, if you can help, that would be great! What sort of things did you want to help with?

Sure :) Then comes figuring out how to actually make the theme display fully work, but thankfully there is python gtk+ documentation out now, which there wasn't when I started.
