Description:

Description:
Obsidian Cursors is a shiny and clean cursor set created in Inkscape based upon my previous Polar Cursor Theme.

Installation
Either install through whatever means your desktop's theme settings has or simply extract the archive to ~/.icons/

In GNOME, to select the theme, click the customize button in the Appearance prefferences application. Then go to the pointer tab and select the theme.

Note
KDE users please note that installing the theme through the control center can cause some cursors to use the default X cursors. To fix this simply extract the theme directly to ~/.icons/

Enjoy!

 Great Theme

Hi firstly i'd like to thank you for such a great theme, its my default cursor theme. Secondly i was wondering if you could help me, i've been searching the web desperately trying to find some info on how to create my own x11 cursor theme but have found literally nothing. I already have lots of png images with which to create my theme however meerly substituting them for other themes images doesn't seem to work. Thanks for any advice, James

 Cursors changed to default

Well, first of all: really great cursor theme, I love them!!! Thanks a lot!! :D

I had the problem that the cursor changed to the default X-cursor theme for some applications, like Skype, Kile,... I am using OpenSuse 11.0 and I changed in the sysconfig (in YAST2 go to 'system' and select 'etc/sysconfig Editor') Desktop/X_MOUSE_CURSOR from default value (DMZ in my case) to Obsidian. I restarted not just logged in/out. Now it works! :-) Don't know other distros but I am sure there is a similar way to fix that problem.

 Nice but too large

It would be nice to have multiple sizes since the size here is too large IMHO.

 Default and Size

Well I'd agree it's large, though it's not a problem I'd like to be allowed to shrink it.

The other thing I'd like to be able to do is to install it as the default system cursor...

compiz creates errors, and sometimes the only way to get it to show is to do metacity --replace. It seems the cursors aren't loved by compiz!

can you advise how to set this so it works every time?

Installation was really a piece of cake on my linuxmint5 OS based off Ubuntu 8.04.
Start Menu - Preference - Appearance - Theme Tab. Install. Choose the file I downloaded here : Done!

Those are my very favorites cursors thanks
