 Workaround OOffice

Hi Guys,

I am not expert in programming, but find a solution to menubar in OpenOffice and Firefox.

Same as many post, also in my system (Debian Lenny) menubar in OOffice and Firefox appers text in black... so you can solve that editing you file:

/home/<yourusername>/.themes/LiNsta3/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

In line 1816 find something like this:

class "GtkMenuBar*" style "menubar-blue-deep"
widget_class "*MenuBar.*" style "menubar-blue-deep"
widget_class "*Nautilus*.GtkMenuBar*" style "menubar-blue-deep"

And just add the next lines:

####### TO FIX OPEN OFFICE & FIREFOX (ICEWEASEL) MENU BAR ###################
widget_class "*.<GtkMenuShell>*" style "menubar-blue-deep"
#######

I suppose you are using "menubar-blue-deep" color

Reset Gnome and thats all!

Well this change made OOffice menubar looks right, but also other menus in your system, so it's not perfect but works. In my case I enjoy the change but depends on you. If not like it, just remove the lines you previously added.

If somebody knows about GTK programming help please... because Class GtkMenuShell its a container for GtkMenu and GtkMenuBar so changing in this way style affect all your system.

Me too, but only in Firefox I've got it. Nautilus doesn't make any problems.
Damn, I love this theme, I'm using ist since v1 ^^

For those, who have the same problem, see page 2. It's not possible to fix.

Well thanks to all the previous comments I got it to look they way I expected it to look, when I installed the theme, by editing 3 lines (around 1825):

class "GtkMenuBar*" style "menubar-black"
widget_class "*MenuBar.*" style "menubar-clear"
widget_class "*Nautilus*.GtkMenuBar*" style "menubar-clear"

Thanks All

fishel, i used this:

class "GtkMenuBar*" style "menubar-clear"

widget_class "*MenuBar.*" style "menubar-clear"

widget_class "*Nautilus*.GtkMenuBar*" style "menubar-clear"

and then finally for Firefox and Open Office add:

widget_class "*.<GtkMenuShell>*" style "menubar-clear"

And the result becomes good. menubar-clear was a great tip.
