 Great theme!

by zoog on: Apr 16 2007

Score 50%

I really enjoy this theme, I use it on my desktop at home(openSuse 10.2), at school (ubuntu dapper), and on my laptop (ubuntu feisty). I run beryl + xgl with gnome on my laptop and use the HumanVista theme from beryl.org, the aero icon theme from this website, and the aeroFox basic theme 1.9 with my firefox.

I edited the gtrc file to use the brown and orange (e.g. "menubar-brown" in class "GtkMenuBar*" near the bottom of the gtkrc file) and changed "Menu-Menubar/menubar-black.svg" on line 22 and 31 of menubar-custom.rc to "Menu-Menubar/menubar-black.png" to resolve the file not found errors.

Kudos for thoroughly adding all the different styles!

 one problem

this is a great theme, but i have a problem that kinda bothers me: my downside bar in gnome is bigger than normal because i use large icons; so the problem is this: instead of stretching the background, it tiles it, resulting in a really ugly and annoying output; could you please instruct me on how to fix this?

the height of my panel is 48; but from what i can guess, the height of the background used by it is only 36; i tried messing around with the configuration files but i couldn't get a satisfactory result; please help

 Black menu bar

This is how i changed the black menu bar. Extract the linista theme. Open the gtkrc file with an editor. Toward the end of the file find class "gtkMenuBar and change the syle to "menubar-clear" and change widget_class "MenuBar style to "menubar-clear" then save changes to the file and then create an archive of the entire linista folder change extension to .tar.bz2 install the new theme

After i installed the theme i had to customize it and change the controls to another theme and then change back to linista for the changes to take affect.

 new launcher dialog

hi,

I'm using ubuntu feisty and like your theme a lot.
The only problem I've found till now is the "create new launcher" dialog from the context menu. The whole window is black and you can hardly see anything. The mouseover colours on the buttons are not blue as elsewhere, but green.

It's not that big problem for me, because I mostly don't use the dialog, but perhaps you could fix this in future releases.

I'm having this problem also. It seems to be skinning it as a menubar. It also occurs when viewing the launcher properties for every launcher.

Did you ever find a fix for this - I'm experiencing same problem too.
I have a relatively new install Ubuntu Gutsy (using Compiz by default) Also using the Linsta black flat theme, but the issue seems to be related to the GTK style.
