It is real transparency (not fake as compiz).
I'm not using transpaceny on listviews etc etc for usability, of course.

Cause I refreshed the description and asked for donations since I need some support to complete the transparent version.

The engine is installed by default in ubuntu 8.04 (the non-transparent)

Is RGBA version ever going to be released????

You know it's been six months since you first announced the RGBA compatibility with GTK+

The release date does not depend on Murrine but GTK+. If GTK+ will approve some RGBA patches before 2.24 then the release date could be in september, otherwise March 2009 (maybe)

By the time GTK+ approve some RGBA patches, Gtk engines like Clearlooks, Ubuntulooks, and Aurora will be updated to support RGBA thing.
Therefore, by that time, your engine wouldn't be special anymore and people will probably make themes based on those engines.

I would suggest to release this thing as soon as possible so poeple can make beautiful themes based on your engine and this will definitely increase the popularity of Murrine.

I don't know aurora, but neither clearlooks nor ubuntulooks will have RGBA support (I'm the developer and I don't consider clearlooks or ubuntulooks a suitable look for the transparency)

 Transparency Settings

 by Genius314 on: May 27 2008

Will the final RGBA version support per-theme transparency settings? I tried a version of this (not sure what version), and it seemed to do transparency automatically, with a fixed amount.
It'd be nice if it did support a setting, because the theme that I plan on making needs more transparency for the window backgrounds.

cimi86, I have been trying to get onto your web site for a coupls of day now, and I just can't connect, it keeps giving an error about MySql database errors, you may want to take a look at this, as I would really like to install this patch, or version of Murrina. Please take a look and let us know what is going on.
