Description:

A fast Clearlooks and Ubuntulooks themes for Gnome made to loosely resemble OSX Tiger.

They fit well with Compiz also.

Contents:
T-ish - Clearlooks theme
T-ish Aguastyle - Clearlooks theme with some pixmap elements
T-ish-Ubuntulooks - Ubuntlooks theme
T-ish-Ubuntulooks Aguastyle - Ubuntulooks theme with some pixmap elements
T-ish-Ubuntulooks Graphite - same as above but thanks to Alejandro Cornejo

Based on Clearlooks or Ubuntulooks engines, Ish GTK theme with additional buttons from Expose and GlossyP metacity borders (with many thanks to authors).

Requires clearlooks or ubuntulooks engine.

For best results use OSX icons, jaguarx mouse theme, and FoxiTiger firefox skin (links below).

IMPORTANT: In order to install all of the themes you'll have to manually extract to ~/.themes dir.

IMPORTANT 2: In order for scrollbars to work on Ubuntu Edgy you have to install gtk2-engines-pixbuf package.

 Edgy’s tish menu

Score 50%

If anyone sees an unneeded light (white?) one-pixel line between the tish menubar and the T-ish Emerald borders, the solution is to edit your ~/.themes/tish/gtk-2.0/gtkrc, uncomment the clearlooks engine’s menubarstyle setting and set it to ‘2’:

engine "clearlooks"
{
menubarstyle = 2

 scrollbar arrows

i really like these themes. i discovered this problem:

there's no insensitive state for the arrows of the scrollbars.

they show up as normal gtk buttons, when insensitive.

i copied the sections for the active buttons and changed the state to insensitive. now it looks better.

maybe you could include this fix in your next release!

You'll need to have gtk2-engines, gtk2-engines-clearlooks and gtk2-engines-ubunutulooks.

Easiest way to do this is:
sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines gtk2-engines-clearlooks gtk2-engines-ubuntulooks

That should work.

Yes, it seems that there have been some changes in the gtk-engines in edgy... for scrollbars I was using pixmap engine, you should track which package offers pixmap gtk engine and install it...

I will look at this problem as soon as I find some spare computer where I can install edgy... for now though I'm restricted to dapper...

oh yes, please have a look at this problem! I love your theme, but to have it perfect, the scroll bars need some more color ;-)

 Border & gradiency

by ExtremeCoder on: Jan 10 2007

Hi. I very much like this theme, but I have a few 'quirks' with it.
1) There is a small 1 px line between the menu bar, and the toolbars. In your first screenshot, this line is not there. Do you have any idea of how tor remove this line?
2) Also in the first screenshot, there is no grey gradiency in the menu bars and window border. How did you achieve this gradiency?

Thanks.

Thanks,

The line is present only in ubuntulooks themes, clearlooks based themes are without the line. Ubuntulooks have this gradient menu so i found it better looking with line added. If you copy clearlooks part of configuration in .gtkrc to ubuntulooks gtkrc file you should lose the line.

The gradient: the first screenshot is done with compiz window manager running, hence the transparency. Others are done under Metacity. Install beryl or compiz and you'll have transparency.

 window decoration

by knalltuete on: Jan 16 2007

Hoi,
I really like the look of your theme, but i got a problem with the window decoration. I already solved the scrollbar thing, but the window decoration won't change when I select your theme.
I'm using XUbuntu 6.10 (edgy eft).
I can change window decoration from the menu Applications -> Settings -> Window Manager Settings, but i can't change it to yours.
I also tried copying your theme to /usr/share/themes, but it looks like my system only interprets subfolders of name xfwm4 and nothing like gtk or gtk2.

Can you/anyone help me please?

thanks and bye,
daniel

I found out how to get the scroll bars working in edgy:

just install the package:

gtk2-engines-pixbuf

and restart the xserver.

DONE!
