Description:

A fast Clearlooks and Ubuntulooks themes for Gnome made to loosely resemble OSX Tiger.

They fit well with Compiz also.

Contents:
T-ish - Clearlooks theme
T-ish Aguastyle - Clearlooks theme with some pixmap elements
T-ish-Ubuntulooks - Ubuntlooks theme
T-ish-Ubuntulooks Aguastyle - Ubuntulooks theme with some pixmap elements
T-ish-Ubuntulooks Graphite - same as above but thanks to Alejandro Cornejo

Based on Clearlooks or Ubuntulooks engines, Ish GTK theme with additional buttons from Expose and GlossyP metacity borders (with many thanks to authors).

Requires clearlooks or ubuntulooks engine.

For best results use OSX icons, jaguarx mouse theme, and FoxiTiger firefox skin (links below).

IMPORTANT: In order to install all of the themes you'll have to manually extract to ~/.themes dir.

IMPORTANT 2: In order for scrollbars to work on Ubuntu Edgy you have to install gtk2-engines-pixbuf package.

 Shadows / title bars

I'm just wondering, how you changed the order /place of the buttons in titlebars and how you realized the shadows attached to the windows and how did you do the striped background in file-browser windows?
Those things don't appear if I simply apply your theme. So I suggest you did it some other way, did you?

Well, you are right.
Some of things you mentioned could not/should not be configurable by theme.

However, most of it is already explained in comments. Here a short walktorugh:

Metacity buttons:
Start gconf-editor from console.

Or on ubuntu: go to:
Applications->System tools->Configuration editor

when gconf is started go to:
apps->metacity->general

and into button_layout field put the following values:

close,minimize,maximize:menu

Shadows:

instal xcompmgr and start it with following options:

xcompmgr -sc -t 2 -l 2 -r4 -o .70 -C

Nautilus background:

Start Computer nautilus window, go to edit-> emblems and backgrounds, choose whatever you like and drag&drop it on nautilus background.

Hope it helps,

thanx for reply and tips.
With xcompmgr I get: "No composite extension"
If it is the same thing I tried months ago (can't remember exactly) it maybe wont work for me... I think I tried this before and the result was that gnome didn't load it's panels correctly anymore and freezed. So I uninstalled composite extensions these days.
I didn't try xcmpmgr / comp. ext. again, because I needed "some time" to get gnome work again properly... ;-)
I'm afraid the result could be the same if I'd try again...

You should have the following in your:
/etc/X11/xorg.conf

Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Enable"
EndSection

This should help.

 About the slider...

Dear Mr. Milovan,
I'm one of your big fans of your t-ish theme, especially the Aquastyle one. I like this one very much, and have been using it for about half a year (now I'm using the one that use Ubuntulooks engine). But I'm wondering if you could make the slider (like on the volume control or on the media players) to aqua style too in the future, or guide me to change it myself (because I've been confused with the code ^_^' )

I've seen the good one like tish-aquastyle-cst (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=34779. I think you've already seen this theme too, because commented it.)

I think that's all. Pardon me for my bad English. Thank you.

Best regards,

Kiki

Thank you :))

I can probably do it. I'll try it when I can spare some time, test it a bit and if it will not affect overall performance I'll publish it.

Regards.

 Suggestions

I'd definitely prefer the Ubuntulooks buttons. They fit better to the "iFox Smooth" theme for Firefox.

Please also have a look at
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=42401
and comment on my tweaks and changes to -ish aquastyle (hope you don't consider this to be spam).

By the way: I always noticed a small white area outside the right-top corner. Seemed to be a problem with one of those lines. I got rid of it finally. Hope you can use that.

Please keep up your great work!

Thank you for your feedback :))

Will take a look at your theme and comment there.

About error you mention I cannot replicate it, I guess it's resolution based.

Which screen reslution you are using?

Cheers,

 2 new buttons

i "fixed" the save as and the print preview button as i saw them as way to blue in an otherwise colorless environment.

i am wondering if you could include them (assumed they are not to ugly) ?

Thank you :)),

Suggestions are always welcome.

I will test the theme with your buttons among friends around me.

If the review is positive I will include them as default, if test users say that they think current "active" buttons are better then there will be no change.

Let's trz it :)))

How did you install the theme? You have to manually extract the file to .themes folder in order to get all theme variations.

Then you have to choose aquastyle variation.

hmm... then the problem is in engine... Do you have pixmap-gtk engine installed?

And about thrash icon... It should appear that way when you add trash applet to the bar. The icon is from osx icon pack so I have no influence on it.

You'll need to have gtk2-engines, gtk2-engines-clearlooks and gtk2-engines-ubunutulooks.

Easiest way to do this is:
sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines gtk2-engines-clearlooks gtk2-engines-ubuntulooks

That should work.

Here is how I got the trash bin to change into OSX style.

1. go to $HOME/.icons/OSX/scalable/places
2. make copy of the gnome-fs* trash empty/full icons, name it as

user-trash.png

user-trash-full.png

3. create this directory
$HOME/.icons/OSX/scalable/status

copy both user-trash.png and user-trash-full.png into this directory

4. do a killall gnome-panel then the OSX trash can showed up in panel bar.
