 It's official...

I've really come to like your work a LOT. In fact, since GNOME-Colors and Shiki-Colors, as great as they were, aren't being developed anymore (honestly, I can't help but think that something has happened to Vic, aka "PerfectSka"), your series of themes has now officially become my favorite suite of icon and GTK2/3 themes and wallpapers.

Thank you for the kind words Freebird, It means a lot.

I do hope Vic is ok. I have found sadly sometimes people just get burned out and disappear from this site and other open source work and even stop answering the email the used to use (They must have another). Sometimes I have been able to make contact with some of them eventually after awhile and thats always nice to know they are well.

You read our mind! I have been doing just that for the past 3 mouths (I had to pause to make a icon theme that goes with it.) I hope to get it out by late November or early to mid December. before 2015. It's driving me crazy to have this thing and not release it but I want it to be perfect as possible.

 dark toolbar bg color in gtk2 apps

 by sadi on: Nov 8 2014

Score 50%

FYI: I've finally managed to tweak this by replacing the present toolbar section in gtkrc with the following:

style "toolbar" {
bg[PRELIGHT] = "#5c5c5c"
bg[NORMAL] = @bg_color_dark
fg[NORMAL] = @fg_color_dark
fg[SELECTED] = @selected_fg_color
fg[INSENSITIVE] = shade(0.5, @selected_fg_color)
xthickness = 0
ythickness = 0
engine "pixmap" {
}
}

 dark toolbar bgcolor in synaptic as well

 by sadi on: Nov 8 2014

Score 63%

FYI: I've also finally managed to achieve this (in Ambiance-Blue) by adding "synaptic.css" to gtk-3.0 styles with the follwing contents (imported from Greybird).

/* Synaptic's toolbar */
GtkWindow > GtkVBox > .dock,
GtkWindow > GtkVBox > .dock > GtkHBox > GtkToolbar {
padding: 6px;
border-style: none;
background-image: linear-gradient(to bottom,
shade(@dark_bg_color, 1.0),
shade(@dark_bg_color, 0.88)
);

color: @dark_fg_color;

box-shadow: inset 0 -1px shade(@dark_bg_color, 0.7);
}

 text color in nautilus tabs

 by sadi on: Nov 8 2014

Now that I've made Ambiance-Blue my standard theme together with your new Vibrancy-Full-Dark-Blue icon theme, I have only a few issues in the way to achieving perfection, and one these is this -- as you can see in the screenshot:

I'll appreciate very much if you can help me sort this out.

This is nautilus on Unity? Ubuntu 14.04 or 14.10? If you can please send me a tar of your custom/patched theme (Just the one color as you mention) and I will see what I can do and what the issue is.

Glad I found your comments it gets crazy for me at times my apologizes.

Yes, this is Nautilus on Unity (Ubuntu 14.10) and I also noticed the same problem in gedit so probably it's probably something to do with the text color on tabs in all gtk3 apps (similar tabs in gtk2 apps like my recent favorite text editor KKEdit have dark text on light tab bgcolor). Unfortunately it's beyond my amateur skills to fix this...

 Re: text color in nautilus tabs [SOLVED]

 by sadi on: Nov 10 2014

FYI: I've found a fix for this by chance. They say there's a bug somewhere in Unity / Overlay Scrollbars which causes problems in most themes (changing bgcolor to black from time to time), and lately I've found out that creating ~/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css with the following contents solves this problem. In deed it also changed this tab txt color to a dark color.

GtkPaned,
GtkEventBox {
color: @fg_color;
background-color: @bg_color;
}

GtkPaned:backdrop,
GtkEventBox:backdrop {
color: @fg_color;
background-color: @bg_color;
}

 a matching userChrome.css for Thunderbird

 by sadi on: Nov 9 2014

Score 50%

FYI: With Ambiance-Blue theme, I prefer Thunderbird main window to look like Nautilus - dark toolbar and sidebar, etc. Therefore I use this with a couple of minor tweaks:
https://github.com/horst3180/Vertex-theme/tree/master/Thunderbird/Vertex/chrome
(There's also a similar userChrome.css for Firefox there)

1) Changing the tab container bgcolor slightly using this at the top section:

background: -moz-linear-gradient(#3E3E3E, #474747) !important;

2) Adding these at the end:

/**************************** Folder Pane ***************************/
#folderTree treechildren {
background-color: #5E5E61 !important;
color: #F3F3F5 !important;
}

#folderTree > treechildren::-moz-tree-cell-text(hover) {
color: #FFA500 !important;
}

/**************************** Attachment Pane ***************************/
#attachmentView {
background-color: #546BCF !important;
color: #F3F3F5 !important;
}
#attachmentSaveAll,
#attachmentSaveAllSingle {
background-color: #546BCF !important;
color: #F3F3F5 !important;
}

/****************************** Status Bar *****************************/
statusbarpanel {
background-color: #37393B !important;
color: #F3F3F5 !important;
}

I am very glad you found a fix! We are getting ready for a new flat version of the theme and a few other things. But after that I will be testing this all out. Thanks for your suggestions and code.
